Been thinking about doing...
The S-280 (GRM-23 electronics repair shop) that I have is constructed of a skeleton of rectangular aluminum box frame with a 1/8" skin over it. Although it does have attach points for sir conditioners in definite places, it is not strong enough to randomly hang something that heavy from. The...
I guess the width is something that you'd have to get stopped by a cop for, and then he'd have to measure it. The deuce is wide enough as it is, going through construction zones etc. I suppose a 5-ton is more challenging.
After reading all the help here (Thank you!), I'll try to answer as best I can, and supply more info. Maybe more of these excellent suggestions will materialize too.
The rear of the truck looks like the first link, with the addition of the custom trailer hitch shown in the second link, between...
An employee at Memphis Equipment told me that they rebuild them so that they are better and more reliable than when new. Like most large items at Memphis, likely a costly purchase..
Mucekok,
I saw the wheels on your truck, did not find that model shown on the usa6x6 site, but I assume they know what to deliver. There's been + and - comments about them on this site, looke like you got what you wanted. It looks like a pain to install all those bolts though. Is there a...
Please help me out here from your vast knowledge of heavy duty trucks and equipment! :D
Well Santa bit the bullet and bought me a diesel genset. This is the smallest one of apparently good quality that he could find. Unfortunately, his note said that even though I had been very good, I'd have...
be sure when you mount the deflector under the dash, that you cross the hoses from the defroster outlets. the passenger side outlet serves the driver side window. That is because the greater volume of air comes from the passenger side outlet. It's easier top put in the defroster duct hoses...
Welcome mucekok,

Thanks, that is good news!
I've got the good quality fuel hose, a brass "T" block with the threads to fit the manifold plug port. That way the flame detector can 'see through' the straight part of the block into the flaming area, and the "T" port on the side of the little block will go to the...
There's an aftermarket wrench (sorry forget from whom, perhaps TNJ Murray), costs more, but much thicker. I bought one and was very happy. There is no reason the original would not work just fine either. But it seems you have a stubborn pulley.
I'd love to have it, get some help to bob it.. too far away from me, and I would not dare drive it home. Whos' closest to it? (kind of like 'who noticed the dirty cat-box first?')
There was a thread on modifying the MX6707 base for the CB. The base normally tunes down to 30MHz. There was a modification inside, and the base ws set to the lowest freq. range. not sure how reversible. One other post suggested trimming the antenna height and gutting the base, but that is a...
