RE: Duece dump at work
It's nice being able to have the toys earn their keep! :) Your tipper looks nice.
You are not far from me Larry. Now I know who to call if I need a load of sand dumped on my shore.... :)
Put on a set of the larger composite military tail lights for better visibility and to retain the military look of the trailer.
Swap out the 24v bulbs for 12v bulbs.
Make an adaptor to connect from the trailer harness plug to the tow vehicle.
Here are the bulb conversion p/n's:
24v # 1683...
These guys can also help over on the M715 zone. I've thought about putting a diesel in my M715 too. The 230 runs too good right now to make a swap though.

Maybe that is why the TM states higher numbers. Different probe location.
It would be interesting to have a 'front of head' and 'rear of head' temp gauge, just to know the difference in temp. I wouldn't think it would be very much though.
I agree, it is convenient to have a hitch up front for pushing a trailer around in tight spaces. I bolted mine to the bumper, with a backing plate behind. The M105 trailer sits about level.
RE: Re: The Skinny on 24087
Thanks David for posting this info. The paint codes and paint history are a very in-depth subject. A lot of research/work went in to putting this info together for us novices.
Thanks Kenny for making it a sticky.
Be sure to bleed off any air trapped around the sensor you installed, it can give you an inaccurate reading. That part of the head acts as a pocket. With the vehicle running at temp, just crack open the sensor plug until coolant comes out, then tighten.
Idleing will not generate enough heat to reach operating temp, 180-190. Normal cruising on a hot day you should see 190.
Wayne, 230 is danger high. 210 at MOST when say pulling a trailer on a hill. 220 and up, and you start running the risk of loosing head gaskets. The 6.2 does not do well...
