There's not a MV that I know of that has airbags. As said above, most do have seat belts.
Just don't tell her about the non-collapsible steering column, no crash pads on the dash, and no roll over protection.
Truthfully, they are greatly lacking compared to modern safety standards...
I've had around 6K in a M105 before (not on the public roads). It was barely on the overloads. I don't know what it would take to overload one but they can hold up a bunch.
I've got a nice Bridgeport about that size with DRO. I know just enough about it to tear stuff up.
If nothing else they make a heck of a nice drill press. :)
All I seem to do with my lathe is eat tools. I suspect it's operator error.
I like to use a TIG welder to put on patches. A MIG will work fine though.
It just seems I can do a nicer job with the TIG and not need as much filler to smooth it out when I'm done (if I need any filler at all).
Novice welders need to stick with MIG. It takes quite a bit of skill to run a TIG...
Also, just because somebody ask a price for something is really a good indicator of what it's worth. I could ask 20K for a deuce but that doesn't mean it's worth that much. Now if it sold it would but there's no way of knowing if it sold or not unless somebody put "sold" it the add.
Don't forget to treat the metal under your patch to keep it from rusting more. You'll damage whatever you put under there some when welding but anything beats nothing at all.
If your local NAPA has a hose machine that's probably your best bet.
You can get reusable fittings that you can install on the hose yourself- Hydraulic Hose Fittings - Hydraulic Hoses - Grainger Industrial Supply . They are kind of pricey though.
What vehicle is it? Did you buy it surplus, dealer, or private sale?
The answer to these questions will be a pretty good indicator if this trip will be bearable or a total nightmare. The reason I say bearable is because although some people relish the task of driving a MV across the country, I...
I'm not a big fan of captured nut either though. The holder tends to break when the bolts are tough and then the only wrench you can get on it is a pair of vice grips.
The piston coolers have little effect on EGT . The main thing piston coolers do is control the expansion differences between the aluminum pistons and steel cylinders. What happens is the pistons tend to bind in the cylinder if the the heat gets too high.
I had a oil squirter break off on my...
If it's not loose you'll more than likely have to replace the end. The line could be broken at the fitting or you could have a messed up fitting. If you've got slack in the line you may can replace the end and not the whole line if the rest of it is ok.
I have found out that a lot of people with really high IQ have very little common sense. Growing up I had a neighbor that was a rocket scientist before he retired and had a long list of degrees. He could barely start his lawn mower and mow his lawn though. His main problem was he would...
I've probably had around 30 transactions since the new feedback system was put into place and I've got 3 feedbacks. Seems not many people are taking the time to leave feedback. I always try and leave feedback but most don't leave any in return.
Oil cooler would be the cheapest/easiest fix so I'd start there first. It's not uncommon for a 250 to eat up the sleeves either if the coolant isn't kept in good shape.
If the oil cooler checks out ok I'd pull the pan, pressurize the cooling system and see where the coolant is coming from.
Are you sure it's a shaft or just the valve spool? There is no cable that goes to the pump on the stock setup. Like I said, pics would clear up most of the confusion on what you've got to work with.
No worries about "hanging in there". I like talking hyd. I just got finished modifying the hyd...
I thought I had another option going that would get it to my door is the only reason I didn't get back to you.
I've told Glen I didn't mind paying shipping but I know he's busy and hasn't had time to ship. I'll just wait on him to ship unless somebody happens to be heading this way.
