Just a note: If you're interested in doing a restoration and want the proper can for anything before 1990, the metal can is what you want. If you don't care about originality and want to use the can instead, the plastic ones are much better. .PDF file from the internet on jerry cans.

I'm definitely in this year, no matter what, but I can safely say I will not be driving the deuce there. My back just can't take 16-hour long trips in the deuce anymore. 3-5 hours I can do okay, but after 2/3 of a day I'm in pretty bad pain. Not sure what I'll be taking instead.

On the highway, I run about 54 mph at 2400 rpm. I don't pay attention to the fuel consumption much, it's gonna be crappy at any speed. I instead run 50/50 diesel and whatever else I throw in the tank. It may not be straight diesel, but it's cheaper due to the nature of the other 50% that is...

Last time I looked at them, they were bringing $3K or so. IMHO, they are nice trailers, and if you have a HMMWV, you can afford one of these. But if you're looking at something to tow behind your M1008/1028, you'd be wiser to pay for a M101 series trailer and save some $$$.

This is a parts show, and for me, I live 4 hours away by normal car. It's not an all-day thing for me, I just drive up, get parts I need, see friends for a couple hours, then turn and burn. IMHO, unless you are close, it's not worth firing up the deuce for a long drive there, stop for 2 hours...
