I was a 63B-H8 in the army. Which is a light wheeled vehicle mechanic. The H8 is a recovery specialist. I drove a 5 ton wrecker and have seen what happens when they dont get hooked up and pulled safely. I get kind of spaztic about safety. Of course my wife says I'm a spaz about everything.
The towbar is homemade. Ron, Littlefoot on here, came up with and made it. It worked great. We used chains because it was the bars trial run. But I think we will use them from now on. Cant be to safe with these big beasts. I will post pictures as we go.
We pulled home the new project today. Its a little rough but not too bad. Hadnt been started in years. Put in new oil and filters and batteries. Had to borrow the lift pump from the other deuce, this ones dead, purged the lines and she fire right up. Still have to bleed brakes and repair...
