This question is for the schmo who does'nt have a crane, forklift, loader, etc. I want to hear the stories from the guys with a hammer and a tree. The real manual labor guys. Someone who did it in their apartment buildings parking lot (just kidding, but that would be a cool story.) I will be...
The truck would blend better when the leaves are on the trees. I think its fine. Maybe throw in some brown sections for all year concealment. I dont think there is a wrong way to camo a vehicle. Its what you like. Being different is good. We shouldnt all be clones. Also zombies hunt mostly by...
Once you get into it and make some contacts it will seem like you cant swing a dead cat and not hit a deuce. I was amazed at how many are around me and I live in the boondocks.
Welcome to the site there are some really knowledgable people around here. I have been helped alot just by reading...
Today went well. My old air compressor just wont keep up so I retired it and caught one on sale at Harbor Freight.
We removed the storage box and the battery compartment. The battery area will need a lot of work. The box is shot but the compartment is sound. Rusty but sound. I found a nice...
Thanks for the advice on the tow bar. Its only 5 1/2 feet long which is about the same length as the ones I towed with in the Army with a 5 ton wrecker and its much more heavy duty. I always appreciate safety advice. [thumbzup]
I have begun tearing down the doors to repair some rust and find a way to make the windows work smoother. I'm thinking nylon bushings on the regulator arms. One thing I will need is paint as I go. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where to get paint in larger quantities. I will paint the truck...
Have the new project and have decided to go with the Bob. We have alot of body resoration on the cab and brake system. We made a good start at disassembly this weekend. Have a lot to do. We will post pics as we go. This will be a resto-mod. The cab forward will be as close to new as possible.
Flat towing is great on a complete deuce with another vehicle as large as or larger. HOWEVER towing a chassis with the steering disconnected would be a very bad idea. When I drove a 5-ton wrecker in the Army i had to pull 2 deuces out of a creek for almost the same situation. More importantly...
Pushed the deuce into the barn today and started the tear down. Fenders, hood, windshield frame, seats and pioneer rack all removed. Alot more to tear down and repair. Going to nee d more brake work than I hoped. The master cyl had a mouse nest inside it. I think I might as well rebuild the...

Hey Jatonka, I have heard the 105 springs ride better. My question is about mounting. Using blocks or sectioning the 105 frame. I have seen the frame section ing on a few trucks and you dont need blocks. It has a even ride height. I dont see a downside to it because the frame on a 105 is...
I started in HHC 197th spt bn, Then moved to C co. 197th spt bn When I took over the wrecker / recovery operation. Its good to talk to you. I think the 197th is a small group of people. I haven't met many others who were in it.
