My Whoopee Lights and convoy signs

OK I used a THULE rack. Cost was $100 for the pair and as I have two M1009's that are getting this style of light, I considered $50 for the rack not too bad. Came off of Craigslist locally. The two brackets I used were Thule load stops. I got them for $12 plus s&h. RandyLBarnes drilled the...

    Newbie From Houston

I left Houston more than thirty year ago. I have lived all over the West and I am current in Denver. Looking to retiring back to Texas somewhere. Probably North Texas. Welcome. And once you HAVE GREEN IRON DISEASE, the only hope is to keep buying more MV stuff... WELCOME.

6.2 with turbo build in progress

You are aware that Edison tried over 2000 filiments BEFORE he used tungsten that actually worked. I have always used that as my motivation. I wish I DID have an egt. I have almost purchased one on two separate occasions. But you know what? It was always to prove something to someone else...

6.2 with turbo build in progress

Dude, no offense. I've been building and modding GAS engines for years since I was sixteen (I'm 57). I'm working with one of my buddy's who IS a master diesel mechanic as his job. I'm going with 101coolcars shop because HE builds and rebuilds old school Mustangs mainly. Though he has...

    Bought another M1009 today

Love the truck. Not so keen on the wheels. Nice but not stock. Not a complaint, I'm just in the 'restore it' camp normally. Some folks here are, some are not. Hey, even I have one M1009 I'm planning on swapping in some M1008 axles. So I'm right there as well. Love the truck.

6.2 with turbo build in progress

Lot of yakkin from guys that have NOT done this conversion. Sorry chief... I WILL be doing this conversion and WILL post the results. Including dyno runs before and after. AGAIN, according to Westech, whom I have discussed this with AT LENGTH, I may be understating the numbers. But again...

6.2 with turbo build in progress

There is a reason I asked what numbers were you looking for. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADD THE TURBO. It's a very expensive option that adds some where around 65/75 ponies and about 150 ft/lb torques... Skip the turbo. Upgrade the injector tips. Use the 6.2L MARINE TIPS. The cost is like $62 on...

My CUCV spin on fuel filter mod

WARWAG, Oh sure, make the old guy crawl up under the truck... No problems... As you can see, attached to the frame rail, inline on the passenger side. NO big deal. If memory serves, there is actually a short piece of rubber fuel line in this spot, so putting it here actually makes sense.

    M1028a2, back from deep sleep!

You need a set of wheels and tires. I had a guy out of Fontana, Ca that owned a tire shop that used to always seem to have a set or two laying around.

My CUCV spin on fuel filter mod

Mine came with a 5 - 6 psi electric pump installed. Turn the key on and the pump starts immediately. Similar bleeding directions. Turn the key on. Open the filter valve. Wait for fuel to spurt out. Close the filter valve. cost was LESS than $100 at Napa... mine has the stock box filter -...

    shocks

I'm going to have to disagree. It's NOT a civy Blazer with upgrades like the tow package and snow plow addition. The front hubs alone are nothing like the civilian model. Take yours apart. Once you get to the locking key and keyway that holds the hub to the spindle, get back with me. I've...

fuel guage goes way past full on M1009

Both of my M1009's AND my M1028A2 go past the 'F' for full mark on the gauge. They ALL go to 'E' for when it's empty. And once it hits 'E' I better find a fueling station or I will be walking soon. So I don't see it being odd or abnormal. But hey, IT IS A CHEVY.

LMC Rear Window Regulator Goes Out In Record Time!

It's probably NOT the register. Most likely the crank 'clutch' has given out. Cheap pot metal piece. I have not found a replacement that works. I concur with Crash. If you find a working solution, let us know. You could make a lot of people happy.

    Thank You!!

WARWAG, You're going about it the wrong way. Find and join an MV club. SLOWLY get the wife involved. Then ONE DAY, she will be on board... How do I know this? Here's a pix of my wife at the end of August 2010. Trust me, she wasn't always as embracing of 'our' hobby. But she found that...

    M1010 axles v/s M1008

Crash, Add the M1028a2 as well, because it does have the NP205. At least mine does.

2010 Hunt for Heroes Parade - San Angelo TX

John, I can't thank you enough. You have truly stepped up and carried this ball all the way. I can't thank you enough. Unfortunately, my M1009 currently has a broken TH400 tranny. I WAS going to be there for the parade anyway. But right now, my wife and I are attempting to juggle her work...

    Problem this morning, need help.

30 amp fuse lower right hand side of the fuse panel. PULL IT OUT. Brighten up the contacts before you put a NEW 30 AMP FUSE in place. Might solve your problems. OH, you double posted.
