The right light was a blackout stop/marker combo, and would be correct until the late 1950s when a lot of trucks went to the dual stop/tail light and a separate blackout light. They were then updated in the 1970s to the plastic combination tail/stop/blackout light housings we are all familiar...
Has anyone ever boxed the frame of their MV for more strength offroad? I doubt someone would do it with a deuce, but M1008s, M880s, jeeps, perhaps....
Sorta on topic question: I was told welding on a frame is a bad thing. Please explain why boxing the frame then would be stronger, and not weaker.
Rust gives it character. A very long road ahead for you, but these are pretty uncommon, you will be the only one on your block with one!
I can't tell if that's a gas tank or a mattress.
Those trucks need a set of those rear hitch testacles, but instead of normal size, they need to be the size of bowling balls. A set for the driver as well, I'd recommend, but I'm pretty sure they have ones that size already.
Would you recommend swapping in the 6BT/727 combo out of the tugs for an M880?
Thanks for the info on the swapping parts. That is good for future reference.
My friend has decided to ditch his 318 engine and put a 400 in it, that he is pulling out of another friend's Dodge Dart project. I...
I was toying with the idea of fitting a larger air tank like a scuba tank or a oxygen tank from a welding kit in place for a larger air capacity. Down side is it would take forever to pressurize, and airing down at the end of the day would take a long time as well. Good news is that running a...
For towing a rock crawler behind your deuce, I would not recommend the HEMAT trailer. Too heavy, too big, and you'll be competing in the auctions against the few out there who own HEMTT trucks to tow them with, and they got REAL money.
I'd get a M-1061 series trailer, the one with the 16...
Probably not. Went to Advance Adapters website and they don't have an adapter for it. I suppose you could pull a 6BT out of one of those Dodge aircraft tugs, along with the tranny, but I'd hate to see what ratio that transmission is, for pulling aircraft. Gotta be REAL low gearing, not...
If you want a camper without doing something permanent, just just the top bow set, the complete vinyl cover, and bolt down your cot and misc stuff inside. Installing an S-250 shelter, or concocting a metal shed-type camper over the trailer might make it too heavy for your M1009.
Did only a couple things on it since I got back from Gilbert rally. Will post some pics this evening - focusing more on the job front past week as the money is getting REAL tight now.
Pictures. Multimedia. Testimonials. I've never been to the Grand Canyon, but I KNOW it's a great place. I've never been to North Korea, and I KNOW it's not.
Haspin is better. Sorry to bust bubbles, PB. I'll keep wrenching on the gun truck.
