I will try to get you a good number tomorrow for GL at camp Lujuene. The number on the bid information is wrong.....and they know it. To pick up a truck you have to make an appoitment, real hard when the number does not work.
On the hole in the door quiston I asked, as my post said...
Your vehicle registration number would be 6 numbers for 1952 Marine truck.
I will see if you can see the Marine TAC marks I put on my Marine M38A1 or M37 can be seen in any of the photos I have. (both trucks are now gone)
Also, on that note I have several water cans that were Marine issued...
My friend just got a M35 and two 5 tons at the GL sell at Camp Lujuene, NC. On all his trucks on both doors about 8 inches from the bottom of the door there is a hole that has been drilled. It looks like a 9/16 bolt would go though it. Also on his trucks the numbers 36 with a V has been painted...
While in the Marines, we had a truck that was down for awhile. Just before we started it one of the Marines noticed a family of swifts had built a nest in the exhuast pipe. They had to be removed, because the truck was needed. I removed the little guys and took them to our local wildlife rescue...
Has any one tried milling out the center of a set of spare front hubs? The Army had a kit set up like this for the 3/4 ton trucks that were going to be spending most of there time on hard roads. I have also seen this done on several jeeps.
I would only do this on a M35 that was not going off the...
RE: level
Looks close, but can you still use your tail gate?
My father in law put one on his jeep, and could not open the tailgate, I think the spare tire hit it. I ended up with it.

Photos are down range.
In the photos, notice on the case, the 100mph tape. Every case I looked at that day was help together like that. They must have had a rough life.

I went to the GL sell here at MCAS Cherry Point and looked at over 20 sets of the Viet Nam war M19 binoculars. All of them had very poor cases, out of 20 I picked out and won four of the best ones. I bidded on the four hoping to win one to display on the M530C, but ended up with four.
I am...
Yea, your right......
If any one wants the licence plate (it has to be from the Marine 2nd MARDIV), $20 or best offer. You might be keeping me out of jail!

RE: price check

There were several Humvee fording kits on the GL auction here in North Carolina last week. Last time I looked they still had no bid. Could have got them cheap.

I am "thinking" of maybe putting the plate on my Brides 43 GPW jeep or the 1941 WC-1. Being the vehicles are over 60 years old maybe the MPs will not mind. But, I have gotten two tickets this year from the MPs, that is more than I ever got in 20 years on active service. Having to much fun...
If you paint your M1009 up as desert storm, you need to make a run to the coast and talk me out of my irac jeep trailer ($400, tires still have" made in Irac on them)
Welcome aboard!
