    Clutch diagnosis help

When I got my deuce, I noticed that the clutch engaged near the top, too... I also had the free play correctly adjusted. Looking at the clutch disk through the inspection cover, I thought it looked thin, and so I thought it was worn out. I didn't want to get stranded somewhere, so I replaced...

    Headlight

Dave Walker has the correct Wagner headlights, as well as nearly every other part you could possible need, new, used or surplus... I'm so lucky to live a mile away from such a great source of parts! Dave's yard is 760-244-8060. I tried calling the other number posted above... after ringing for...

    Todays pickup from Barstow

I'm still in Hesperia... so you probably weren't as close as I thought, I assumed you came up the 15... Still, I'm only about 6 miles from Palmdale Road. My deuce should be back on the road with new tires within two weeks, I'm looking forward to driving it this year. A lot! Jon

    Todays pickup from Barstow

Cool!!! You drove within 3 miles of my house. Dave Walker told me that several of the latest bunch of Barstow deuces had the air-o-matic but also had ventilated blocks... glad yours was not one of them. Jon

    AVM lock out hub installation

I'd unbolt that top piece, chuck it in the lathe and turn off the 4x4 / 4x2... At the very least, if you're going to paint them anyway, you could sand blast the letters and fill them with bondo. I don't think solder - even aluminum solder - would give a very good result. Jon

    Air powered wiper Questions

Nice. Those are now on my wish list. I'd go even farther and put it in the title, "Metal Bodied Air Wiper Motors" so it's known without clicking on the picture... Casual browsers might think you're charging $80 for plastic ones if they didn't click on the picture... Jon

Another! New Advertisers - Alfa Heaven!!

Excellent! Advertisers, former advertisers, and potential advertisers should know that my purchasing priorities are as follows: 1. Local sources 2. SS advertisers 3. Former SS advertisers 4. Everything else Good idea! Regards, Jon

Where do you tap for a multifuel heater fuel line?

1 qt. per hour? That's better than I would have thought... I'll be looking for one of these heaters, as I'll be adding a cargo cover before Tower Park in April. I'll probably go the jerry can route... 2 cans would run the heater for over 5 eight-hour nights. Jon

    baby HEMTT update

That's AWESOME! I know it's been a year, but you've made a HUGE amount of progress since the last pictures you posted. I'd like to see a far-away shot... like the one at the beginning of this thread... so we can see how the whole truck looks now that the gap between the cab and body is filled...

    HELP ME! I'm going MAD!

You've never had a bad ground? Yours must be the only M35 that hasn't!... If you search the archives, you'll see that bad grounds are one of the most common problems with the M35, causing everything from lighting problems to melted battery terminals to non-charging alternators and non-running...

Info, tips, things to watch for, things I need to know, etc.

Before I got my deuce... even before I was a member of SteelSoldiers, I read almost every thread in the Deuce forum here. I started out knowing nothing specific about MVs, and four or five hours later I had downloaded the manuals and knew enough to confidently make a purchase. Reading all the...

    Torque rods

Do new bushings come with new nuts? Since the threads are part of the bushing (which is going to be replaced), I wouldn't think it would matter if they got "peened over"... Better that than to ruin the nut by hammering on it. Jon

    Opinions wanted...

Like Sarge said, it would be difficult or impossible to fill the tires with them lined up... But someone told me (or I read somewhere?) that the reason for 180 degrees is so you know exactly where the inside valve stem will be - opposite the outer - and won't have to check all the holes in the...

Anyone know what typerwriter oil is?

I'm surprised that I'm the only one to say this but, WHAT A WASTE!!! High quality machine oils are very expensive... I wouldn't be surprised if Uncle paid $300 or more for that oil. Isn't there anything better to do with it than burn it? There we go... I just previewed and saw that Spruce Mt...

Spin on seconndary fuel filter adapters

I didn't have to drill the frame, I used the old filter bracket and holes. I have a flare tool, and had most of the fittings, and the copper tube was from my scrap box. There was a connector in the fuel line farther down the frame, I replaced the line from there to the filter - about 3 feet...

    FONTANA scrap yard run #4

Napa has stuff like that, in their drawers of "Dorman" hardware. Bring a good one or both halves of a bad one so they can match it up. It's a standard vibration dampening mount. Me too. I won't take the day off work, but I'll go if I can (I'll be on-call) just for fun. Jon

Wagner Power Sprayer for truck painting

If you need any more convincing... Wagner products are made in China, along with almost everything else these days. http://www.qvc.com/scripts/detail.dll?item=V22676&cm_scid=crt My Harbor Freight HVLP gun was made in Taiwan (if that's any better). Jon
