    Is Solargizer puttin' out?

out Well you can check it with a volt meter it will need to be in sunlight of course. Voltage will vary with the amount of light. But the ones I seen has a red LED on the black box to let you know it working and on the right terminals, not sure in the military ones have it or not. Wayne

    M103 Gen Set Trailer Lunnett

tow I once bought a M105 from Ft Steward that had brand new tires on it and had two flats before I got it home (60 miles). When they put the new tires on they didn't notice that there was a new inner tube (sealed in the bag) already stored in the tire and put a another new tube in on top of...

    M103 Gen Set Trailer Lunnett

trailer As Ace said they can be trouble to flip but I've never had a problem towing them with the ring up. Full size pickup 1/2t with 15" wheels. I would worry more about a blowout. Wayne

    mutilation required!

scrap Not this time, while DRMO has the job of the demil stuff, anything that G/L decide that it is not profitably to sell piecemeal at auction they could turn it down and it would go back to the DRMO and they would dispose of it (scrap). NOW that G/L has the scrap contract also, I expect you...

    Cold Natured Diesel

As always driving conditions AND common sense should prevail but the figures I used came straight from TM 9-2815-237-34 Table 1-1. Tabulated Data (6.2 L) which is for the HMMWV but for the pre 1990 encine. Any changes to the cooling system and/or transmissiion cooler and/or loads will need to...

    Cold Natured Diesel

diesel Operating temperature (normal) 190°-230°F, 88°-110°C for the 6.2 but I wouldn't think running the truck for 15-20 minutes is long enough unless you are going uphill maybe. The thermostat has to open first. Wayne

    Brake line question

brakes BTW bending steel tubing is tricky and requires some practice. Kinked lines means reduced flow and you need all the the help you can get in stopping a deuce. Don't cheat and use copper tubing either. Wayne http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/563.cfm...

trucks From the G/L site "Vehicles described as "residue" will be provided SF-97s that are annotated "NOT FOR ROAD USE." First I don't think you will drive a residue vehicle away but if you do and the SF-97 state that and you do get stopped or have a accident you will spend time in jail plus...

New SS M818 made it home!!

M818 I've been told that in civilian OTR non fleet trucks, where drivers may own the truck but the trailers belong to someone else, to save wear and tear (and money) on their truck's brakes they will use the trailer brakes for slowing and stopping. Is that something that is taught in CDL...

New SS M818 made it home!!

M818 Congat on the new truck. But I would like to point out (for the other folks) that there is NO different in stopping power between DOT-5 (BFS) and DOT-3 in normal vehicles and conditions. As per the Army PS 586 "BFS is more stable at high temperatures and won't absorb water". Back when the...
