Fantastic! Unfortunately I learned the hard way.... checked the fuse AFTER the new voltage regulator didn't fix it!
But on the up side.... now it already has one of KKlop's redesigned VR's in it!
Agreed... that is definitely your fuel drain bung ( well nut )
As stated above either get the "Ultimate Well Nut" as described in this forum or replace it with a REAL Viton or Mil-spec. well nut.
Don't get the cheaper Chloroprene 3/8-16 well nut from Hillman or Pop Fasteners, you will be doing...
Well, start with the basics... as I learned the hard way...
If your machine has the quad fuse mod to the left of the voltage regulator, check the fuse first!
If the fuse is blown it will act exactly as you describe.
Also realize that you have 12 wires plus the 2 field wires coming out of the gen head currently.
You need to accurately connect the appropriate wires together that Craig's drawing shows as internal connections ( T1 through T12 )
Also, I believe CT1 and CT2 are aftermarket transformers, not the...
Fantastic job Ray. Glad to see you took the time to research your issue, gather the necessary data, find parts, repair your pump and get your gen running all on your own.
Nice to see you were able to successfully utilize all the info already posted over the years!
Good call, don't use your house as a load bank when working on the machine, bad things can happen.
It is very hard to accurately diagnose things from an audio clip, but it does sound like the engine is fluttering somewhat, and possibly another odd noise, but sound can be deceiving when listening...
Just for the hell of it, also check for reversed wires on the gage.... wouldn't be the first one!
While in there, you can use your meter to check the signal coming from the transducer.
Consult the TM's on how to test.
I have also found 1 or 2 meters in the past that had a mfg. defect internally...
Anything is better than nothing and there is no "Too Much" as far as lubricant, but I typically use about a pint per tank full, so 1-2 oz per gallon I suppose?
In the video's it appears to be running OK at no load.
Do you have a video of it as it starts to die out under load?
I have experienced several 1074 fuel pump issues lately where the machine will run fine for a while but above 50% load the machine will run a little while then slowly die down...
Yup, Guy is most likely correct. I know because I have a pile of PSU parts ( everything except good plungers ) from all the broken pumps I have run into.
As a result of the catastrophic plunger breakage, Ambac redesigned the pump to use the Plunger guide as the sacrificial "Shear Pin", thus...
I see you have an Arctic heater on your machine... nice option to have up in your area!
Back to your battery drain issue.... If you verify that you have a substantial battery drain try removing the + 24V output wire from the back of your alternator.
What you described smells an awful lot like a...
Since you voltage gage is working, that means the gen is producing power. Therefore, as LITD mentioned your HZ gage ( assuming you have the throttle up high enough to be above 55HZ ) issue must be a bad connection, a faulty gage or possibly a bad frequency transducer.
I would start by getting a...
The other reason it may feel sticky when loose in your hand is that the plunger is fully extended and the spring is causing the plunger to "Bottom out" in the body.
Once installed the tip of the metering pump touches the cam follower and slightly compresses the spring and plunger, eliminating...

So I went to purchase the Sierra TS26631 and the particular ad I was looking at said it is comparable to the Beede F90404 from LITD's attachment above.
For the sake of an extra $4 I went with the Beede, seeing that the gage is from Beede, why not keep it all in the family!
I will let you know...
Great info guys. LITD, It's funny you mention Sierra, when I was searching by PN several listings for the Sierra Marine senders came up and I wondered if it might work. For $18 I might as well give it a shot, I also have a 240V temp gage on the shelf that was in an 803 I bought years ago. It was...
Hello,
I'm working on an 806A for someone and the coolant temp sender in the corner of the head is broken. ( somehow the wire and center pin have come out of the casing and were dangling behind the head )
Looked in the TM and it gives a PN of:
Beede 127341 , 5905-01-376-0985 , 88-21742...
