Some more questions from a rookie

Tommi when the truck is sold by the Gov't, the buyer must agree not to export it or knowingly transfer it to someone who has the intention of exporting it. These export restrictions do not apply to all countries though, I would think that export to Iceland is permisable. I am not aware of any...

Some more questions from a rookie

No Military designation of XM880, EVER. The M880/M890 series were 1976 and 1977 model year trucks only. Which were produced from late 1975 through early 1978. The production through early 78 was due to the cab & chassis versions being sent from the Dodge truck plant to the companies that put...

    M880 grille

I'm jealous, every Sno-Commander around here (3 that I looked at) had the 44 up front. :x

    M880 grille

What front axle is in that 78 w-200 snow commander? Does it appear the same as the 76 M880's?

Places that sell dodge m880, power wagons, w200 ...

There is a place called Alfa Heaven on the internet, but from what I have seen their prices are double what they are worth. There is not a large quantity of these trucks available and they do not sell for high dollars so there aren't really any places that specialize in them.

Some more questions from a rookie

The typical W200 weighs about 4500 lbs. The 3/4 ton thing is a general clasification refering to load capacity. Which on these trucks are rated for 2500 pounds (1 1/4 ton) Which is why the military calls them 1 1/4 ton trucks. a 1970 318 was rated at 220 hp

    What axle is this?

RE: 70 Love how they call it a D200, when it is a W200. Although it is odd to see a D60F on a regular cab W200.

The locking in the 203 TC is not really any different than the locking in a part time case. They both simply make the the front & rear drive shafts turn together. Rock crawling with a full size 3/4 ton truck??????? Snow, I have been up to the rocker panels in the snow on the forest roads with...

    Power steering

Finally got the M880 power steering conversion project completed! What a P.I.A. I've had the power steering box on it for a few months. Got the pump pullled of an organ donor last week. I was a little miffed at having to remove the fan & pulley to get a PS bracket bolt. that and draining the...

Leaning toward buying M885, a few questions from a rookie...

Humvee tires on a unlifted M880 Will eat up your front fenders (unless you don't turn or go over bumps.)

Leaning toward buying M885, a few questions from a rookie...

With the 4.10 gearing in the M880's, I don't see cruise control doing much. I've run lots of miles on my M882 both empty and fully overloaded. at 65 mph the throttle is at least 3/4( almost floored) open and the speed stays pretty level even up & down slight grades. If you have a steady foot...

    M880 Registration Numbers

It was a link to my question about the Reg #'s on the old board, that I guess went bye-bye. Thanks Brian, for the answer. Many have assumed that the NG meant National Gaurd, but I wasn't buying it, because every M880/ M1000/M998 series truck I have seen started with NG on my M886 it is...

    M880 Fuel Mileage Query

Man, I gotta do something fast! I got 6.5 mpg with the M886 last weekend going to Hillman's VJ day on Saturday, and the Yankee Air Force "fly in' in Oscoda Sunday. I'm pulling the carb for a rebuild and checking the spark distribution equipment, before I take it to Clare on the26th (All...

    M880 cargo cover on Ebay

I do not trust that seller. I have seen the exact same listing before, wonder how many covers that truck has? "Cover was removed from the vehicle pictured." He has cancelled my bid before and ended auction because of "mistake in listing" only to relist it again and cancel it again when the...

My parts truck is pretty wore out, drivers side front axle u-joints mutilated, brake rotor wore completly off of the hub wore out 33 x 12.50 x 16.5's on fairly wide wagon wheel rims. wheel bearings are still in decent shape. My M882 has seen way to much abuse, (my kid drove it his senior year)...
