Hey,
I've been neglecting this forum for too long I guess.
Been visiting the M880 forum regularly, Sorry I've been away.
Was up in Hillman today with the MMMT for a VJ day display and heard this thread got active again.
Anyway, I'm still up for putting something together for next memorial...
The board only gives the option of uploading from your PC.
Should pics that reside on the web only be posted as links then ?
Does this rule apply to signature pics?
I'll have to search through the TM again to find the Seafoam green on the exterior of ambulances. the 1990 TM calls for the 3 color camo exterior and Seafoam interior for tactical use..
but the M886's were left out of the 1990 version. (Would love to see the 1976 version)
The inside walls and...
My M886 page Here
The pics are old, It has Army Reserve medical unit markings on it.
my TM from 1990 says ambulances were to be painted #24533 Seafoam Green
I believe many of the Ambulances were actually used as troop transports not ambulances.
Well I didn't mean this thread as against the Author / Magazine.
I skimmed through the article, noticed several errors, figured my post to be a helpful notice in what is probably the worlds only M880 forum.
Iowa!
Wow, that is a lot of engine failures. Especially for a 318 Dodge motor
CAMPING :!:
Along the AuSable River in the National Forest
The upper 'litters' latch down onto the lower creating a seat to sit upright on, they get suspended from the walls and a rod that folds down from the ceiling. So maybe you do have them ...........
Just received the latest issue of MVM.
Glad to see an article on the M880's
Unfortuately it contains several inaccuracies. :(
including but not limited to;
2wheel drive operation, sorry they are full time 4x4 (the M890 series were 2wd, but the article was talking about the 4x4)
16 inch wheels...
Standard 318 leak
Front drive shaft removed requireing T-case to be in either High Lock or Low Lock
T-case linkage out of adjustment causing it to slip out of lock position, quick fix, tie it in place.
So did ya buy this thing or what?
Is the 24v generator still there on the drivers side of...
Better mileage then a tank
How's that saying go?....If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
Seriously,
With the M882 empty I get 40 mpfg
With the M882 towing I get 36 mpfg
The M886 gets between 32 & 36 mpfg
*mpfg = miles per four gallons
Ok, 8 to 10 mpg
Wow Thanks!

Combination of your pattern, my M882 & from other pics (with a few mistakes  ).
I believe that the M715 pattern is what they used on these trucks...
Humvee tires will fit on the rims and on the truck.
with the tire being almost 6 inches wider than the rim they will be quite rounded.
Pic of 36 in, on stock.

same tires with lift & wider rims...
The problem is that the stock rims are only 6.75 wide.
and the choices in currently available tires is limited.the widest tire you could put on is about 10.5.
Go to tirerack.com and search for tires in the 16.5, last time I looked they has 8.75 x 16.5 highway tires and 35 x 12.50's.
I have...
Interesting veiwpoint on the tailgate situation.
I have seen more without the stamped "Dodge" then with.
The tailgate that came on my M882 (pictured above) while apparently from a different truck (painted different camo) has the plate on it where the cargo cover fastens to. This appears to be...
