HUGE Military Vehicle auction in Nebraska June 29th 2006

This is how I found my baby 13 years ago. 1968 IH Loadstar with 1975 HIAB model 765A crane and it has never let me down (no pun intended). :-) I paid $3,900 for both as shown. Everything was operational. I would be interested in comparing notes with the person winning it. In particular, the tag...

    Trip to Wayne Harris, GA

Backing up the single axle trailers is always a fun activity, especially a 9,000 lb one on a side slope. My son and I took turns and he finally got the trailer about where we wanted it. aua

Here are images from my recent visit to Wayne's place near Baxley, Georgia. To find his location, use mapquest and the nine digit zip, 31513-5677.

    Trip to Wayne Harris, GA

A few more numbers: Trip length was 1,201 miles, first 800 miles with tires or dolly as cargo produced 8.5 mpg. Last 400 miles with laundry trailer as shown above, produced 7.7 mpg. Burned 110 gallons of biodiesel/veggie mix and 37 gallons of diesel for the trip. With the fuel selector valve...

M756 Pipeline Bed install /redneck engineering

There is an almost ten year difference in the age of our beds, Joel, mine is dated 1961 at which time the pipeline bed was a separate unit and meant to be installed on any deuce when needed. Yours was made as an M756A2 pipeline deuce. There are bound to be a few differences, mine has its own...

Found a bunch of winches...big ones!

I know very little about these tractor pulls, but one question, what is the load in the bed of the deuce? Increase the load and you'll increase the traction.

    Trip to Wayne Harris, GA

Here is a beginning of a series of pictures from the trip (It's Wayne Harris who operates the crane offloading Robert Miller's tires). I'll have trip stats later, lots of catching up to do.

24 to 12Volt slave connector adapter!!!!!!!!!

If there is any interest in a "point of load" 24 to 12 volt converter, this is what I can offer (upper unit in image). Its good for 36 watts and is fully encapsulated, waterproof and with packard connectors. I have had my prototype working for about a year now and it powers the CB and other 12...

    standard m35 rim question

Kenny, RDM now has six wheels/tires waiting for him at Wayne's. They are welded, but he said he'd take them anyway. Looks like a much more difficult job to separate than riveted wheels....

Any chance of getting a hi res image here? If not, please attach to an email: super_deuce@hotmail.com Thanks,

M756 Pipeline Bed install /redneck engineering

The rivets that Joel refers to are at the end of the bed and had to be removed because of the plates that fit snuggly to the sides of the frame. I drilled them out and replaced them with cap screws.

M756 Pipeline Bed install /redneck engineering

Great progress, Joel! Need to get the locust wood project off the back burner here so you can finish your bed.

    813 and harvest time

Good to see the old trucks being used. I was in your area last Tuesday and late Wednesday, sorry I missed you. Wayne's dad grows watermellons and they were delicious!

    Trip to Wayne Harris, GA

Arrived at Waynes' this morning. Taking pictures, but they will have to wait until I get back. I'll be heading down to Camp Blanding this afternoon for a pick up tomorrow. Haven't heard from NEIOWA about the Jacksonville pick up, so I'm not sure about Thursday.
