After doing some research, I found those ladders are the proper ones for the MKT-85 kitchen trailers. However, if you notice the pics, they each have a "demil" on one side of them with a torch. I supposed they can be repaired with some bar stock and some bolts.
I have seen a couple incarnations of the CJ-10 used off road. The gearing is very low, so it's perfect for rock crawling. However, it does need some cosmetic and suspension-related mods to make it work in the backwoods.
Good luck with your project!
Some pics from the day:
pic 1: Bunch of new coil springs in the scrap bins. Wish I knew what they were for.
pic 2: Line of MEP-003a gensets that I pulled parts from in order to complete mine.
pic 3: A HEMTT cab with DING DING a pair of NICE HEMTT seats in them. Wish I had more time yesterday...
Okay, I'm back. Had a short day at Colemans, I got there late due to work issues (had to show up for a couple hours early, then took off with the tool set). I will be sending PMs to everyone, but to satisfy everyone's curiosity about what I brought back for people, here's the list of YES/NO on...
This sounds like a job for Super Soni. Or Super Jones. Insert your favorite custom military truck builder here.
This project could easily get out of hand remember, in order to be like an MRAP, you need armor. LOTS of armor, which is heavy and expensive. You need to add vision blocks...
I bid the M936 wrecker in Richmond up into the $5K range, but was outbid. It sold for $7900. Still a steal for a nice M936, but more $$$ than I had to play with.
Those are interesting light mounts, Jones! Are the real HEMTT ones like that? I thought the whole light bucket mounts, not just the faceplate....
I hope you'll consider making more of those first aid box brackets. I could sure use one or two on my trucks.
BTT. Anyone else need something specific from there? BTW, Saturn Surplus is in the same town. If you pre-order something from there, I can pick it up for you, save you shipping costs.
Update - drove by the armory last Saturday on the way home from Thanksgiving. It is gone from its post. Methinks the Army finally towed it away to get blasted into steel chunks on some arty range.
Anyone in the NJARNG able to confirm or deny this?
Will post a want list with names and items for everyone this evening. I'll try and look for everything ya'll want, he doesn't have a lot of junker trucks anymore, so I can't guarantee anything, but I'll look.
I am having a similar problem - I have several items listed, most of them I have lowered the prices on by editing the ads over the past several months. But when the ad is automatically relisted, it relists at the original price. Not the new price. Not sure what is going on, but something in...
Cool Xmas card! Bet it will get a lot of comments from the relatives.
"Honey we got a Christmas card from the hillbilly militia unit in our family again." :D
I can tell you from building my old M725 and putting 11.00x16 LAV tires on them, that taking the runflats OUT is a PITA. Putting them back in must be similar. Prepare to cuss a lot and end up with little hair when you're done.
Why do you feel the need to install runflats? Do you do a lot...
