Well I see a big no no.... Radial tires mixed with re-cut bias ply tires. Not that those trucks see high way speeds I would think but still not a good idea.
I see that people still do not read the whole post or just cant understand what they read.. That is called functionally illiterate. I did not say I wanted to get rid of the little ones, or replace them with a big rally. I was putting it out there that we are able to take the next step forward.
well I paid 800 for mine less bed and it had 0 rust and it ran.... it did not drive due to all the tires being shot. I would say for 500 your not too bad.. if its total **** you can scrap it for that much or more.

There 40HP marine injectors.. you have to take the injector apart and install the new tips. ITS TOO EZ!! if you can change a spark plug you can install a new...
There seams to be a TON of new little rallys popping up all over the place and that is GREAT! That is what this place is all about, making friends, sharing ideas, trading parts... ect. But does SS have any "sanctioned rally's" for say? I would think Haspin and The GA rally for sure.
Now don't...
:driver:well I have found if you take one off a deuce that had 11:00 tires on it stock (adapter) your really really close. My M813 came with 11:00 tires and I installed 14:00 with the adapter and the spedo is close enough to where it counts.
THE 5 TON! no way!! Thats like me driving my 5 ton... kinda a thing going on this neck of the woods with 5 tons just sitting.. man I need to get mine done. Just too many irons in the fire I guess, that little M151 is taking a lot to fix up. Always something.
I have never broken a 208.... I have snapped a transmission in half that had a 205 hanging off the end of it. For how heavy it is.. man not worth it in my book behind a 6.2 diesel or anything less then a built big block. I have seen too many 205 bust transmissions then a 208 failing. Stick with...
if it is cracked you can weld it but the cases have to be really true. If the shafts are out of alignment it will self destruct. For the price of a used one (50 -150 bucks) just swap it out and save your self some time, money, and the chance of it being bad even after welding it.
the best tire out there that I have played with is a good year G177. you can get the 11:00 x 20 size and there GREAT!

drop the T case thats about it. and how to do that is to remove the bolts and spacers and install the spacers in between the frame and the cross member. you will have to adjust the shift linkage to the transmission and the t case a little but its not hard at all.
you have to heat up the yoke to melt the nylon that holds in the u joint. use a propane torch to heat it up and melt it out. After that just remove and install.
o man.. good luck getting that back to a CUCV... looks like there has been a lot of hacking going on there. I would just get her good to drive and makeeverything work.. but get it back to As is military... not worth it.
you dont need that bock to adjust it.... thats just a wast of time. All you have to do is to adjust it..... move it towards the fire wall for lower shift points, towords the radiator to higher shift points. and adjust the modulator on the transmission for the fine shift point adjustments. its a...
