I guess some people just look at this forum different than I do (just a bunch of a**holes BSing about trucks). I've made a lot of friends here and received a bunch of help when I needed it.
If you want to have that attitude it's fine with me but don't expect much help when you run into a...
On a side note, I figured out (by mistake) how to remove paint from data plates. You can use paint remover. For some reason the remover won't harm the ink on the data plate.
Do you have any hearing loss? Those pumps are loud with the engine off. I can hear my pump in the cab with the engine off and can also hear it with the engine running if I'm standing beside the tank.
Are you sure somebody hasn't installed a aftermarket in-line pump? I'm unsure if the...
Lonegunman, I have to ask also, if we are all a bunch of crooks why are you here hanging out with us?
I just don't understand why somebody would post condemning most (if not all) of the members other than to stir up trouble. If you have that kind of attitude toward the membership you should...
As I understand it, these are Vickers pumps. Does anybody know the Vickers part number. It looks as if the pump has a standard 2-bolt mount so I'm thinking you could find a replacement in the civilian world.
I've sold stuff before only to have the buyer just resell it for profit. I don't sweat it as long as a got what I wanted when I sold it. I've even sold stuff to dealers that I knew what they were going to do with it before I sold it.
With that being said, the guy does sound like a goofball...
Really? I don't see how a winch would double the price of the truck.
There are dealers pricing trucks for a whole lot of money. Apparently they're selling some because they are still in business but they can be had for a lot less.
Why? I'm not saying you're wrong but I don't see what it would hurt. The stock M101 tires are exactly the same as on a CUCV truck.
I will say that you have to watch some light auto tires though. Some won't be heavy enough to use on something like a M101.
Whenever I get a new set of tires for...
I've got several big forklifts and cranes to lift beds (or the whole truck for that matter) but I like Wreckerman's idea if you don't have any heavy equipment. You could use something as simple as some pieces of pipe.
55 gallon drums (steel) make good supports.
:ditto:
I'm not saying don't fight if it comes down to it but do it the legal way.
Everybody needs to remember they represent all MV owners in a sense. How you behave with your MV reflects on the rest of us.
It is slow. I haven't timed it but it takes about 2 minutes to let down or pick up the neck on our M870. It operates the M870 fine but you're not paying out much cable for this operation (maybe 20' at most). Honestly, for winching operations it would be too slow IMO.
I haven't noticed any...
The flat tire ordeal reminds me of something I saw one time. A truck lost a whole barrel full of roofing nails. There were vehicles lined up for a mile or so on the shoulder with flat tires.
On the pics I posted, we are running a 40gpm, 2500psi Commercial Intertec pump. I don't recall the specs on the motor but I can get them. The supply hoses are 1" (to use in another application also) but the valve and hoses from the valve to the motor are 3/4". We are using a reservoir that holds...
I buy a sell a few items from time to time. I've had several people wanting to buy M105s from me. I tell them I don't deal in trailers. Even if I pick up a M105 for the minimum bid, by the time I pay the fees (premium, taxes, sf97), take my time to go pick it up, and fix what's broke, I can't...
