I initially said the hard top was better, but I changed my tune when I did the 2008 VA rally, when I had a soft top and turning it into a convertable was sweet. With a hard top, it would be much harder. I haven't noticed that much of a difference in dB level between the soft and hard top, they...
Looking to get a pallet of two trailer lube plates shipped from Northern VA to Roswell NM, was wondering if anyone out there could provide a shipping service or some prices for me.
Pallet is standard sized, holding two of these items, total weight is estimated at 750 pounds. It would help...
Shelters weigh about 700-1000 pounds depending on what's in them. They won't load down the goat too much. The proper one for the goat is NOT the S-250 shelter, which is a little too wide, you need a S-189 shelter which is the same inside, floor-wise, but the walls are a little more narrow...
Got back yesterday around 5 or so, had a great time with some great people. I even had time Saturday morning to wrench off the old bent and broken bumper on my deuce and bolt on the new one I got from Bernie in DE.
I didn't take any pictures, I was too busy wheeling and having fun in the...
If you end up getting an M35A3, take that crap off. The CTIS never seemed to work correctly even when maintained by GIs who are tasked with nothing but vehicle maintenance. Come to think of it, if you buy ANY military vehicle with CTIS, take it off. It's a wet dream of a design that looks...
I should be out of here within a couple hours, arriving at the site by noon. I have been using the rear end of my truck as a shed recently, so it has a lot of stuff still packed away in it from Aberdeen and Haspin. I am not feeling up to the task of unloading all the stuff that I was trying to...
Sorry to hear that, Jeff. We'll miss you there.
Plan on heading out of the house early a.m. on Friday morning, will get there late morning. Plan on bringing plenty of adult beverages and smokes. Also, if I am supposed to bring anything for anybody (parts, etc.), please PM me to remind me, my...
From what I gather, the military never bought that many of them to begin with (at least, not as many as the deuces!), and they are very useful, so not many have been sold off as of yet. They are out there, but you will spend a lot of $$ for one.
There is one currently listed for sale on...
I would like to take my PRC-47 radio set to the VA rally to operate it in the field this coming weekend. I do not have the proper power source for it, it uses either 24 volt DC (like a 24VDC jumper genset would provide), or 115 VAC 400 Hz. I was wondering if I could get input from someone who...
Okay, it's official. I'm going! My back is almost back to normal, so I'm rarin' to go, get some trail time and camp time in. Looks like some awesome weather planned for this weekend as well. Looking forward to meeting all of you!
He's having too much fun with the trailer. Epic fail. :)
I have had a similar idea to that since a car show years back when I saw a pickup truck with a pool in the bed. I keep going back to the pet-dream of taking a trailer and putting a hot tub on it. Works better if you have 18-25 year...
I had two of the laundry trailers in the past year. They are big and heavy, and even heavier with the laundry gear on it. I wouldn't recommend towing one with a deuce for very long. They are really meant for 5-tons.
These are awesome saves, that Steel Soldiers made recently. These bomb trucks are rare as hen's teeth now, they have mostly rotted away the past 60 years. The fact that there are restorable examples this long after the war is nothing short of amazing.
