I have two in the driveway with truck plates, the state considers the HMMWV a truck, what else could it be? it could be argued a helmet top with windows added to the rear and sides would be a passenger vehicle like a suburban but other than that it is a truck.
Yes, 500K would be a truck that went through RECAP, Probably at Red River, must be a real low 500K as the program was put together in 2004 so 2005 would be an early R1
It does not matter to the state, it will be titled at what ever year it was sold as, what ever your SF-97 says or the title...
How old is your R1, most are around 2007, a former military vehicle must be 25 years old or older to obtain former military registration in Texas, otherwise it must be treated as a regular vehicle, inspections etc.
You can get former MV plates instead of using the vin/registration number, no inspection required, same cost I think and same rules.
I am no lawyer but the wording
"in a design and location, which conforms to the vehicle's official military design and markings."
That would seem if you listed...
That would probably be OK for most, but I use mine as a daily driver, I bought some late date NOS BFGs and after 13K or so they are going out of round. not a problem at 55-60 but at real highway speeds it sucks.
I have a suspicion that they just build the military contract tires to the absolute...
That probably had nothing to do with the filter.
I have been twisting wrenches for over 50 years both as an occupation and a hobby and have never heard this.
At least I would someone try to explain how a clean filter can cause a failure.
I sent in for a shipping quote so the actual price can be compared, although I would expect it to be less than the $90 difference in price.
Of course the Goodyears could be made in China or any other of a host of third world countries.
If you are looking for the registration number it is on the data plate NG4LWL
If you are looking for the unit markings you will have to discover that by trying to go down through the paint layers, no way to look it up.
Pam (wife, 45 years) o_O used to work as an operator at a VCM chemical plant, that is what they called it, so just like "zippy ties" it is now part of our vernacular :ROFLMAO:
It is possible whomever removed the light cut the wires, maybe even flush where they came out of the harness.
At this point I would be looking for where the individual TPS and ESS harnesses and the brake switch wires come out of the larger harness for cut wires.
Follow the wires from the TPS, (throttle position sensor) on the right side of the injection pump, it should lead you to where it goes into a larger harness, that is where the wires for the MIL lamp should be.
I have no idea about what you are seeing, might be clutch material might be nothing...
Well they all do that, if you rev the motor when the fan is engaged it is usually pretty obvious by the noise it makes.
Heck hook it up and see what happens :) o_O
Yep, my M151 and M422A1 had the numbers on the hood, can't remember how the 404s were marked,, I just never went the former MV route cuz I drive the crud out of every MV I have, I only drive a civy vehicle if I have to.
I think you are right as that is what the law ( at least the form) says...
