So plentiful in England because a lot of them never came home after the war. It was cheaper to leave them there than to put on the ships to send back to USA.
Not to mention, Hotchkiss built thousands of Willys MB-style jeeps for the French military, used well into the 1980s. There are still...
Just to make sure we understand the situation - you have 16.5 inch tires, and want to replace them with 16 inch tires? I don't think they will fit right....
And such is the life after service for most of the dump trucks that get surplussed out. They are worked very hard, for very long, until in some cases, they are literally falling apart from the stress and corrosion. It's a sad thing to see, but on the other hand, you know all the hard work it...
Wondering if anyone has ever gone to the trouble to install a big truck air ride suspension on their deuce. This would be the black balloon-looking air bags that are used on big rigs above the main springpacks to soften the ride.
Can't quite tell, but the last pic looks like a variation of the box seat, but with a tube frame. Can you get some other pics of it?
Also keep an eye out for HEMTT seats. They obviously are not original, but they can easily be found in the hundreds of HEMTT cabs that have been auctioned off...

Sounds like the air cleaner indicator. If it shows yellow or red, the air flow is restricted by a dirty air cleaner element. Time to change the air filter!
Top speed for me is told by the rpms, not the speed. Most figure top speed is around 2500 rpm, just below redline, about 55-57 mph. I keep mine around 2300 rpm, around 52 mph, just for the sake of keeping the stress on the engine a little lower. I'm only going to lose a few minutes on a trip...
It's not heavy. The M105 trailer is 2440 pounds empty. The M332 ammo trailer is 2800 pounds empty - not that much more. It tows like pulling a jeep behind you, you don't even know it's back there.
The up side to the M332 trailer, is that it is low to the ground. If you have a lot of heavy...
I have heard great things about the owner, but the thing is, the owner is never there. Not sure the name of the low-level wonk is who works there, but he is pretty lousy in his caring for customers when you show up. He almost has an attitude of, "what are you doing here?" when you come in the...
