I checked on some 6tl Deka batteries for my truck about 6 months ago. I don't remember the CCA but the price was $140 each. Needless to say, I went with good civilain batteries that were $140 for both of them.
I'll tell you what I've seen done. Find a long pole that will reach accross the truck. Tie the pole with chains to the rear of the back tires. Then put the truck in reverse and ease back until the pole comes around to the front of the tires. Then move it to the back and repeat until you're on...
Ok, A semi truck wheel bearing will be more than big enough. That's basicly the size bearing that supports the wheel when in operation and should be more than enough to hold it steady for cutting.
What is the bolt pattern of the hemmit wheels? I'm thinking it's the same as a 5-ton truck. If it...
Could you give a little more info on the turntable? It could be that you don't need as big a bearing as you think or do as Westech said. Semi tractor bearings are not much bigger (if any) than 5-ton military trucks.
I truely feel sorry for the good folks of CA. It seems you can't win there.
I understand it's hard to do with family and jobs but I'd consider moving out and letting the whackos have it. Looks like it's time to retreat, the sensible have lost the war.
Thanks for all the input. [thumbzup]
After hearing the responses here and doing more research, I'm leaning toward just a 12v winch powered by a 12v deep cycle battery. I was worried I'd run out of juice in the middle of a winching operation but after hearing people here it looks like I'll be...
Just get a pyro and make sure it doesn't go over 1300 deg and you're good. If it will get close to 1300 or more it's been turned up. You can also check with a boost gauge. If you get much over 7 psi it's been turned up.
Oh, the speed tach thing isn't a opinion, it's a fact. It's very possible...
You can tell if it's turned up with a pyro and/or boost gauge.
The fuel setting won't effect the speed. It is mathamaticaly impossible to do 61 mph at 2400 rpm unless you have non-stock gearing. I'm going to say your tach is wrong if your GPS said 61 mph and you're actually overspeeding the...
Sounds like he thinks a awfully lot of this trucks. I may go and look but sounds like he's going to have to cut his retail price in half (even for the west coast) to be in line dollar wise.
I've seen all kinds of metric stuff but one thing I haven't seen is metric pipe. I have seen metric hyd tubing, what I'm talking about is iron pipe. Do they make metric iron pipe? We install a bunch of metric machinery in factories. Everything on them will be metric except iron pipe used for air...
I personally like SAE. It's just what I've grown up with and am used to. I have heard machinist say that the metric system creates certain problems when you start getting into close tolerances but I'm unsure why.
I do kind of have a problem with doing something just because the rest of the...
I think that was what it was at when I looked earlier in the day. Shoot, that's close to $2,000 after you pay the premium and TN sales tax.
The one I've got isn't hardly as nice going by the pics but I'd take $1,000 for it. I may take some pics and run it in the classifieds.
The old D60 axles are just generally a weaker axle than the modern ones. You're limited on gear swaps also if you want to get higher speeds at lower rpm. You also have more wheel options and brake options.
With that being said, the stock axles will hold up fine under normal use. I have no...
Did anybody see what the M149A2 water buffalo ended at that sold at Ft. Campbell this week? Last I saw the bid was a little north of $1,600 .
I haven't been watching what these things go for but this seems awfully high for a tank on a trailer. I know a bought one last week from GSA but...
Not really. A 350 SBC are the most common swap. I was just wanting to go with a 292 because they have gobs of torque and I was kind of wanting to stick with the straight 6.
Unless you're a purist I wouldn't bother with that old, worn out Tornado. They cost a fortune to rebuild (when you can find all the parts) and they aren't all that great even when they are running good.
I've still got the Tornado in mine that just won't die. When it does I'm going with either...
It's more than likely not the nuts that are your problem. It's the ferrule that's under the nut. You can usually reuse the nut and just replace the ferrule and/or line.
If you're not worried about keeping everything stock, I like to go back with plastic DOT line when I replace them. It's...
