Can this been done? Yes. The main problem I see though is you can't disengage under load. When the winch loads up when it tries to suck your arm in you won't be able to disengage until it atleast pulls your arm loose from your shoulder. At that point you hope your shoulder gives way so your...
Maybe we need to get rid of some of the slackers and make room for some new blood.
To the orginal topic, do what doghead said. Mangus can fix it.
Yes, a chain coupler would work fine also.
I would have thought a lovejoy would hold up unless the alignment was too far off.
You going to need some type of flex coupling unless you have the mount machined to make sure the winch input and the motor output are in exact alignment. If you...
Personally, I believe I'd go with a lovejoy coupling. You may not be able to find one with a hole on one end for the winch but that can be fixed with a drill.
Well if you look closely at the pic, it's got "waste oil" stenciled on the side of the tank. So I'm not so sure I'd ever get it clean enough to want to drink out of it again. I may use it to water livestock or maybe just sell it. Only reason I picked it up was because it was close to home and...
As long as the thing looks like it's been sitting there, I'm fairly sure what air was ever in the tank is long gone. ;)
Looks like I'll be good to go then.
I bought this water buffalo today. From my research, I think it's a m149a2 with a stainless tank. Am I right?
The only other question I have is about the brakes. It appears to have a brake setup like a m105a2 (an emergency and a service line). I had planned on towing this thing home with my...
Ft. Campbell had some long pintle ammo trailers awhile back. I don't know what the cap was but from looking at it, it would more than haul 15.5 tons. I can't remember the "M" number.
That kind of weight is a whole lot for a pintle hitch trailer. I know you see civilain trucks do it all the...
Get the bolt pattern off of the winch input cover. You then should be able to go to any hyd equipment place and match it up if it is available. Or you could fab one up pretty easy if you have any fab skills and a welder.
Northern tool has several hyd motor mounts to choose from.
I actually like the LOGSA site better than the TM section here. LOGSA is searchable so you don't have to just wade through them until you find what you're looking for like you do here.
There not too bad if you already have a stock winch. I debated going hyd when I installed my winch ( I already had a hyd pump installed for my dump bed) but I went with the PTO just because it was a bolt on setup and I don't use the winch that much anyway. I may still go with a hyd winch if I...
Ok, I'll admit y'all make some good points. Electrics do have some good points. I'll also admit the learning curve on a electric is not nearly as steep as a PTO. You really have to know what you're doing to get the most out of your PTO winch.
I'd still like to hook my PTO to an electric. I...
As Travis has said, the coupling can be had. There is one problem you're going to run into if you try and go hyd on a A2 though. I've taken the measurements and you're going to run into clearence issues with the A2 radiator if you try and go with a direct mount motor.
I'll put my stock PTO winch up against a 18k electric any day. Let's hook both our trucks to a tree and then tie the winch cables together. I'm not 100% sure I'd win but I'm sure enough that I'm willing to try it.
I don't think so.
I had thought I'd found one but the fine members here shot me down. :-(
