I would be happy to serve a role during the convoy, as I am one of the more nimble vehicles. Will be bringing along a good sized amount of tools, just in case.
all these issues stem from GM's choice to use aluminium shift forks with nylon wear pads (so they would be quiet) instead of steel. the parts are cheap, but you have to tear down the case to get to them.
be sure to use the marine high temp grease, no worries then.
and follow the instructions for setting the preload on the bearings, otherwise you'll be doing it again very soon.
while you have the rotors off, take them and have them measured for run out, if they are warped they will just kill...
once it gets closer, we will all get each others phone #'s, exact planned routes, and contact information for next-of-kin (just in case something happens, so your family can be told.) I wouldn't have everyone just post there # on the site, I like not getting phone calls about health insurance...
I can meet up in cincy as well, I could do the trip in about 9 hours, but I know that you guys cant do 70mph in your MV's like mine can :D
I'll prolly be taking the I90 route, assuming that its not closed for construction (as they have a habit of doing ;) )
I paid the same price for my alternator rebuilds, had them done by suburban Alternator on Gratiot (the orange building)
They also rebuilt my starter for 125 (that includes 15 for the new nose cone I needed)
Is the front level?
I would suspect a bent frame with that much difference in height. Check the height of the frame on both sides, is it the same amount of difference as the bumper?
I have a chart that will show you the frame measurements, to determine if the frame is bent.
I wish that worked for the stuck plug in my truck, tried both methods and its still stuck in there. I have the extractor kit, but havent had the chance to try it.
