yeah hit it with some PB blaster and take them off. It helps to let the nut sit aver night after a good soaking. And yes you can get it with out removing the tank.. done over 100 of them.
you know that is a good question.. I have a M211 that needs a new air pack and I have one for a M35.... don't know if it has enough push to move the dual cylinders on each hub... good question Chin.. I hope someone can answer it.
Diesel running rich? hmm correct me if wrong here guys.. but a diesel does not have any intake butterflies or anything to control air flow.. Its wide open.. how the RMP is controlled is by fuel amount only. So if it were running rich the rpm would go up. I mean just my 2 cents here. You might...
O you poor man..... M35a2 do a search on it.. you will find out why. It was designed to be used in -60* weather. so the oil would sit in the pan and be heated with a arctic heating kit. if you are not using it in -60* why not make it better and less ware on the engine? Please search.
Fuel rate settings are critical to efficiency of diesel engines. MSHA specifies a fuel setting and a fuel deration curve for each engine during the approval process. The fuel deration curve is intended to ensure that the fuel rate does not exceed the maximum allowable at any altitude.

It is very ez but to do it correctly you do need some special tools. you will need a dial indicator and a torque wrench that s in Inch pounds.
BUY A Chilton repair manual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mine was doing the same thing! I found a cooler line that was crushed and not flowing much. I replaced the cooler line and added a 20K transmission cooler and never had a problem after that.
I would look for that and a good filter kit and some new fluid never hurts.
wow Ida.. that looks like a lot of work. I searched for years and found a 99% rust free body. Mine came from GA and was covered with red clay mud and gear oil. The trans seals were all blown out and leaked there oil out and it looks like it has been like that for years. Good luck on the resto...
I have a feeling that mount wont look that nice too long. You might want to put some more back bracing. As is, the weight of a deuce and if that plow hits something hard its going to fold that up in to a crumpled pop can formation.
That is a huge engine.. lost of rotating mass. Its not going to drop like a NASCAR engine. There is nothing wrong. Mine does the same thing along with all the 250's I have driven.
