Most ridiculous workaround ever, or a COOL idea? (Air conditioning)

Problem with inverters is the power draw. While yes you have the reserve capacity in your batteries but does your alternator provide the amount needed to run the inverter and the vehicle at the same time. I ran into this issue with my f250. I have a 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter in the...

Advice from a Deuce mechanic needed

Cheap torque wrench can be found at Wally World in the auto section with the tire changing section. Well worth the investment.

    New member from Louisiana

Yeah you helped. I go pick up my m818 not this weekend but next then register it. Insurance is a toss up between gulfway and progressive. Gulfway offers the best rate but progressive is a regular policy with no mileage restrictions. I need to call gulfway and see if they got my email, I did...

    can a f250 pull a stuck m35 deuce and a half out?

I do agree with the others, I was just giving some examples. Basically in a pinch and you only have whats available. Snatch blocks are great, especially if you can tie off on a big tree and use it as leverage using a couple snatch blocks so the towing vehicle isn't taking the brunt of the...

Lion Claws XIII - Desert Vigilance - May 23-25 2014

If there is an event a little closer to home (southern-ish Louisiana) I'll go no problem. Could justify line hauling a MV there and back for a weekend of fun in the sun.

    can a f250 pull a stuck m35 deuce and a half out?

How stuck are we talking here? Years back we pulled a tanker (fire truck) out of a man made mud hole with a motor home, so anything is possible. I've seen a dodge 1500 pull a pumper unit out of a hole using the winch on the 1500. It all boils down to how stuck it is. Last month I got my...

Military Vehicle Insurance for my M1008

Depending on how much you plan on driving it you can try gulfway. I would figure usaa would insure it no problem, they just won't insure the bigger trucks because of the weight, at least that is was the girl told me on the phone when I was shopping for insurance for a m818.

Prius pulling. A recovery of sorts.

After reading this I'm going to get a dolly converter and rig up a pintle hitch to tow my 5th wheel camper with my prius, lol. How high did the back end come up when pulling it?

Passed the ARRL Technician and General Exams today!

Just be careful with the heat if using it with the lid closed. That 706 will heat up pretty quick on HF, in a air tight case like that. Edit: I just read you already addressed the air circulation issue. Whoops...
