The wheel seals aren't a made like a standard type seal so I'm not sure you'd ever find them in a auto parts store. Which seal do you need? Inner, outer, or both? I may have a few I can send you if you need them.
I think the theory behind the oil groove is to help keep piston temps a little lower (more fuel equals more heat).
The way I see it is the injection pump is a moot point. You can turn up a LDT IP up more than enough to melt the engine so I don't see how you'd gain hp with a LDS IP. I could...

I really like the Gilespie paint from Rapco. If you don't mind using cans they work pretty good. The only down side to gallons is that you have to pay haz-mat shipping.

I don't know why people are asking if this is a GL truck :?. Of course it's a GL truck. I guess it could have came from GSA or something but I'd say 95% of all deuces came from GL.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying a "GL truck". All my trucks have came from GL and I've had good...
Have y'all seen what the deuces are bringing on GL lately? I've seen alot of them going for over 2K (some over 3K). I think the 1k GL duece is a thing of the past and so is the 2.5K private sale deuce.
I don't think 4K is too far out of line when you look at the GL prices lately. I think...
IMO, CARC isn't nearly as bad as alot of people like to talk it up. It's really no different than alot of the modern automotive paints. As long as you wear a good respirator, safety glasses, and wash up good afterwards you should be fine. You really need to be taking these same precautions with...
I wouldn't touch this truck without a title. There are ways to obtain a title in TN if you don't have one but it's a real pain to get the clerk's office to do it. My local county clerk is not any help at all but he got replaced in the last election (aug 5), we will see.
It sounds as if the...
I just sold one for $2,500 that would meet your needs. I'm not too far from you but don't know of any other trucks in the area for sale at the moment. It sounds like $2,500 is a little high from all the problems you mentioned but who knows. I've seen deuces sell recently on GL for more than that...
I'm not familiar with the M37 trans but I'm sure it just takes a standard cover. You sould be able to find one on any transmission of similar size. Any junk yard or trans shop should have what you need.
I've been planning on getting me a centrifuge for some time now because I've got a bunch of WMO (about 350gal) that needs to be filtered. I've thought about building one but I think I just going to break down and buy one. Where did you get your's from?
Carnac, Let me start off by saying that I'm in no way questioning your info. ;)
With that being said, how accurate is the info? The reason I ask is that all the info I have (from DDoyle and others) says the truck is a 1972.
If you've ever seen one with CARC and one without, the difference is obvious. CARC has very rough texture compared to non-CARC paint. If you can post a good pic of the truck I may can tell you just from the pics. Also, alot of the CARC painted trucks had "CARC" stenciled somewhere on the truck.
If you lived a little closer to me I'd buy it. I can't believe you haven't found a buyer yet. Looks like way too nice of a truck to part out. People will pay more than that for a deuce and you have to unload it with a shovel.
:ditto:
The auction results can't be trusted to be correct. More times than not they are wrong.
The only true way to know what a truck went for is to bid on it and see what it went for in your bid history or be watching it when the auction closes.
I hit right at 1,000 deg pre-turbo on the factory fuel setting. To really see max EGT you need to pull a hill where it will bog down the engine a fair amount. If you've got a boost gauge also you can watch the boost and when the boost pressure starts going down is when the EGT will start...
Pretty well accually. These trucks are made to get wet on the inside and fair pretty well if it's not been uncovered for a long time. Nothing a little paint and some new seat covers can't fix if it's weathered alot.
Well a floorjack isn't very safe either unless you happen to have a flat on concrete. The don't work very well on dirt because the have to roll as they go up. IMO a bottle jack is the best with some boards to put under the jack to spread out the weight and some cribbing to put under the truck to...
