Almost all the dealers sell New Star boots. Most of the New Star stuff is pretty good but their zipper boots are junk. I can't speak for the silicone boots because I haven't used them.
When I bought my truck it had a ripped boot on the passenger side. I replaced it with a New Star zipper boot...
I like the soft top better also. Mainly because I just think MVs should have soft tops. It is alot easier to take the top on and off with the soft top too.
To be honest, I find the hard tops louder inside the cab. It seems to me that the soft top absorbs the noise and the hard top just refects...
Too big? a deuce is a pretty big truck but is a pretty small load in the trucking world.
Try this- http://www.steelsoldiers.com/transportation-needs/32518-hotshot-transportation-co-looking-loads.html .
Well I may go in a different direction after finding this- GSL Electronics | Brake Controllers And Reversing Buzzers .
It's an electric brake controler that takes 24v in and sends 12v to the trailer brakes. I couldn't find any prices on their website but saw a thread in another forum where...
It all depends on location. Some places will let you do just about anything and others won't even let you preview at all. I'd call ahead to where I was going and ask what they will let you do.
Most stuff that's not tactical in nature doesn't require a EUC but I've seen some strange stuff that...
Usually just the winch itself goes for around $300-$400. Unless you are awfully lucky at finding parts, it's more expensive to "piece one together". All of the other parts add up pretty quick.
If the winch is cheap enough I'd still buy it though. People are always needing repacement winches...
Ok, I did some research. Looks as if oldordie bought the truck from GL with 5th not working ( http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/18721-m35a2-overdrive.html ). He sold it to 72cj5 who never found out why 5th wasn't working (...
You bought that truck from 72cj5 didn't you? I ran into him waiting on his buyer to show up at a BP station in D!ckson. I guess you were the buyer. Nice looking truck. I remember him metioning that the truck had 5th gear problems.
I've got a spare trans if you need one.
Travis, You may be onto something. Somebody give me a LDS IP and a set of injectors and I'll try it out ;).
Seriously though, I wish somebody would try this and post the results.
I've been researching options to pull a civilain trailer with my deuce. I wanted some way to control the electric brakes and ran accross this- http://www.southwestwheel.com/store/showproduct.aspx?ProductID=45&SEName=hayes-airelectric-brake-controller
It runs off of the brake air and should...
I did volunteer to take several topics and combine all the info so it could be found easier about a year ago. the problem is, You can't combine threads without permission. I let mangus and steelsoldiers know I was willing to do this but haven't heard anything since I brought it up. All I got...
I'm still not buying the whole IP/injector deal on the LDS. I know they're different but can they really make that much more power? You can melt down a LDT with the factory fuel pump and injectors. If the LDS IP and injectors deliver that much more fuel, what keeps the LDS from melting down...
To be honest, they are worth whatever you're willing to pay. It really doesn't matter what everybody else has paid. It doesn't take much looking at all to find out what retail prices are and you can base you're price accordingly. Just jump in there and bid and see if you win or not. As it has...
Around here some stations still offer low sulfur diesel in addition to ultra low sulfur diesel. It's my understanding that high sulfur diesel has been illegal for awhile now to run on road. That is, you won't get in trouble for running but it is against the law for stations to sell it for...
This thread is a reminder of something I learned long ago. There are lots of good, well meaning automotive mechanics around but unless they know about MVs they can really screw things up.
Hey Bill, Did you read this? I know this is a very old thread but I never knew this. I know I'm going to ask Rapco about this the next time I order paint in gallons. The haz-mat charges is what kills you when you have paint shipped.
