The plus side to the ether start system is you're not likely to over do it on ether (a common problem when using the spray cans). The down side is the replacement canisters are so expensive.
I've got a flame manifold heater on my truck that doesn't work. Awhile back the fuel supply line to it...
You should be thankful . The first thing I do to a truck I'm going to keep is unplug that thing. I know you should use them but I like to hear how the engine is running when I fire it up and not a loud buzzing in my ear.
Nah, I still wouldn't have added the 12v compressors and the associated wiring ;). All modern trucks have the airbags and brakes running off the same system. I've blown a bag before on a Freightliner going down the hwy and while you can't keep on going, you won't loose air so fast that you can't...
I think this is the correct way to get the word out on stuff like this. You didn't break any rules but I think you provided more than enough info for poeple to be on the lookout and catch it when they see it. [thumbzup]
I went back and edited my thread. My math was wrong. I made my calculations on a 4" drum. I thought the drum was 4" but I went out and measured a winch I had. The drum is accually 5".
Here's the rest of the motors Northern offers Hydraulic Motors + Hydraulic Motor Mounting Brackets |...
After finding the winch ratio (23:1) and doing some math I came up with 1087 in/lb to get 10,000lb line pull on the first layer of cable. I also found that the stock setup has a driveshaft speed 650RPM with the PTO in low.
A hyd winch would be nice. I've thought about installing one myself. I already have a hydrualic pump to run my dump.
The only disadvantage I see with using a power steering pump (providing it will push enough oil) is your PS wouldn't work while using your winch. I don't know if you'd really...
To be rejected I'd think you'd have to had entered some wrong info on the EUC, Be a non-citizen, or be on the terror watchlist.
I have heard of people being rejected for bad or missing info on the EUC. They do a reverse phone number lookup on you and if your phone number and address don't...
When Ian first said they were going to paint the truck black and silver, I thought "oh no". To tell the truth, it didn't look half bad after they sprayed it though.
Overall I like it. There are a few things I'd have done different but oh well. He even addressed my comments about the extra 12v...
My uncle borrowed my truck and made almost $2,000 hauling dirt. I didn't get any money out of it though because he's my uncle and I owed him a favor. Note- If you install a dump on your truck everybody will want to borrow it.
Other than that, I've used it to haul scrap to the scrap yard but...
The reason TN doesn't do this is because every time a title is transfered they get sales tax revenue, tag, and title fees. Every time a vehicle changes hands they want their part of the sale and any time a vehicle changes hands without transfer of title they miss out on collecting any money.
Yes, those two pieces are needed also to attach the bumper.
I'm not sure I wouldn't just do what B of T said. Just add a section of frame off of an old truck. I've got a spare set of brackets but I've got a spare winch also and I hate to seperate them.
Thanks Kenny and Gimpy. Since I now know what to search for I've found several threads. I knew I'd seen a pic of one before.
After reading up on it, several people are of the opinion that this is the best turbo to have on a LDT 465.
Ok, I've searched and searched. I know there's threads that talk about this turbo but just can't seem to find them.
I picked up a deuce today at Redstone that has a LDT 465 with a turbo that's not a "C" or a "D". The exhaust side is very similar to a "C" but it has a larger compressor and it...
I may be up for a convoy. I say may because I'm going to be in Huntsville around the time of the rally but it's for work. We've got a big job at Teledyne and if it's like most Teledyne jobs it will be a rush job and working lots of hours. If I can get off I'm going to try and make the rally this...
