wouldn't the voltage from the first battery smoke the second charger, I don't wnat to have to disconnect the batteries to charge them. The battery closer to the rear of the vehicle has the positive from the front battery hooked up the its negative terminal, wouldn't the reverse current from the...
Thanks I'll try ebay. I have a big upright charger and am going to make a cable to hook it up to the slave recepticle to charge the batteries. I am doing this so I can still use the crager for other vehicles. 24v charger cost too much money for me to buy one just for that truck.
I would like reccomendations for glow plugs for my 85 m1008, I still use the controller card ( I don't want to change over to manual) and want a GP that will heat up quick, but not burn out and mushroom.
How is the slave recepticle wired? Where can i get a cable for it? I want to find a way to connect the batteries to a 24v charger, i want to trickle charge them when i store the truck, while they are still connected in the vehicle. I figure that i can use the charger through the slave recepticle...
Does anyone know where i can get a replacement card for my m1008 ( the one under the dash in a black box)? Mine has a burned chip on it. I don't want to convert it to a manual glow system, I just want to get a new card. I also would like to know where I can get another glow plug relay( mounted...
Thanks for the info, does anyone know where i can get a replacement glow plug conrtoller card ( the card under the dash in the balck box) mine has a fried chip on it.
as stated in above posts the ambient temp during the day is around 85F and at night it is only dropping to about 75F (read= hot as hell), i shouldn't need the glow plugs at all at this temp. I am going to try to find the pressure switch and see if replacing it helps, the fliter is stock so i...
I have a manual switch hooked up to the glow plugs, but it doesnt help with the starting problems. I could glow it 5 or 6 cycles and it still wont start any easier( sometimes motor will sound like its trying to start, but wont) Just curious, would starting fluid fire if the starter is not...
Is the pressure switch a military part or is there a GM part # for it? Also does anyone have a spare glow plug controller and the card that goes under the dash?
When i said it had cold starting problems, i meant that after it had been sitiing for about 8 hours, it is hard to start. The temp around here right now is averaging about 85 F during the day and about 75 F at night, I shouldn't need the glow plugs at all to start it when its this hot outside.
My 6.2 is really hard to start cold, I have to spray with wd-40 ( glow plugs are disconnected) to start. after it warms up, it will start on the first crank for several hours. I just finished replacing the lift pump, thought that the problem was a worn out check valve allowing fuel to drain...
I checked the dimensions of the new spindle with the old one before I put it together, and they match. Could the difference in the thread at the end be beacause the old spindle bearing combination was worn out?
Muddubber yes i installed both snaprings. With both nuts on tight they are flush with the end of the spindle, i remember when i took it apart there were several threads left at the end.
I had a set of wheel bearing go bad on my front axle (85 M1008) so i took the hub apart and ended up having to replace to spindle. I put the new bearings in and torqued them to spec, but after ass. the locking hub, it sticks out too far for the o-ring to seal (about a 1/16th of an inch).
Anyone...
