well with the gov lock to get the wheels to lock there has to be around a 100 RPM difference in wheel speed... so for ez driving it will act like a open dif. Really a gov lock is a good way to go in the front.. just you have to set it up and a lot of people have no idea how to do that. You will...
well that's what lock outs/hubs are for. You can unlock the front axle when not off roading or such. I am looking about installing a lockrite or a gov lock in the front. A lockrite is 300 or so and I can get a used gov loc for 100 bucks. But yes it will work in the front of a 09 just fine.
just ran it (after our tech's said it was ok... im not paying for a new engine) and it was good to go. when looking for a oil leak the exhaust will smoke more (not all the time but in some cases) we have a LHS with a bad turbo that will run just fine.. just smoke more and oil leaking from the...

I fill the diffs, trans, ect till it starts to come out the hole.. let it stop dripping out and slam the plug in.
I drove from Wisconsin to Aberdeen in mine.. that was almost two twenty hours days/night. You for sure will be a wreck when its all over.
I can do 600 miles in a deuce and not think twice, done it many many times in one day.. that's ez... now 1200 that gets to you
Its not a short cut.. its in the books to do it that way... they just don't tell ya how ****ED you are if you drop a bolt down in there. But if you just take a pill and do it right its all good to go.
O man get a new pump! there super ez to replace. Get your self a shop repair manual and you will be good to go. Trust me you can do a pump in 60 min or less no problem.
