Sure hope the above isn't how you titled it. The MFG is actually the serial number and the SN number above is actually the registration number.

Ahead of you ATD. I am working on redoing the "So you want a deuce" article and have it posted. My suggestion to the mods will be to make it required reading prior to posting to the deuce forum. May potentially cut down on some of the stupid stuff.
I agree we need to look at one for each...
However you could download the TM, pull out that page and post it with the same question. Just can't direct link to an active auction. It can lead to an illegal act called collusion.
Suggest editing your post and redoing the attachment as stated above.
Based on numerous threads over the past week of people "wanting to buy a deuce" I would be skeptical of any thread by any new members stating they want to buy a deuce. We seem to have more folks "looking for a deuce" to the tune of about 1 or 2 a day recently. Definate increase in what we use...
First off there ain't no I or O in military registration or serial numbers. As stated in post #1 it is either a 1 (one) or a 0 (zero).

I know what you mean about the 3900's. I had a ball fall off the tip of one and when I went through a drive through, I got it caught and shattered it.
Swapped to 3916s soon after. Lost that vehicle. Still have the antennae.
Do you have any interior picks, have you done any upgrades...
Some more jack and BII questions. I now know the one jack with the jack handle attached in the one picture is a M151 jack.
It want to confirm I also have some MB stuff here. Looks like an engine crankand a lug wrench. There is a wrench with a square key pocket that looks pretty old also...
Don't fear about never getting one.
First does anyone know the scrap value of a 105 and the 101 trailers? That would be the only concern I would have to the whole situation. If it is over $200 per trailer, I wouldn't sweat it.
The government is dumping the 101 and 105 trailers...
The serial number is the VIN. The registration number is technically not part of the vin.
Not sure what NNNN, USA LLLLLN is all about, I'm mean it doesn't provide the detail needed to answer the question. If you're worried about some knowing your vin, you shouldn't be, it's public record...
Glad to see you had previous experience with them. That means a lot. It's like riding a bike, you fit right back into the seat. Nothing has changed (much) since the 80's. Might have different seat. I added power steering to mine. Getting too old to be torquing on that steering wheel...
The metal strip around the outside keeps them from sliding on down inside the braket on sideracks. Without it, when the weight of the canvas and any snow load is added, you might not be able to pull the rack back out when you need to.
