Don't fear about never getting one. First does anyone know the scrap value of a 105 and the 101 trailers? That would be the only concern I would have to the whole situation. If it is over $200 per trailer, I wouldn't sweat it. The government is dumping the 101 and 105 trailers...

The serial number is the VIN. The registration number is technically not part of the vin. Not sure what NNNN, USA LLLLLN is all about, I'm mean it doesn't provide the detail needed to answer the question. If you're worried about some knowing your vin, you shouldn't be, it's public record...

The metal strip around the outside keeps them from sliding on down inside the braket on sideracks. Without it, when the weight of the canvas and any snow load is added, you might not be able to pull the rack back out when you need to.
