    M1009 Engine Oil

15W40 Rotella is all I ran in all six Cummins and all four 6.2 diesels that have been through my hands.

    Cucv

Those things can drive you crazy, little bare spots in wiring etc... do not overlook a bad battery either, even if it is new.

    M1009 Recovery Trip

It fired off faster than the M1008 the rest of the day. It was slow starting this morning, but it did start without being jumped on the old batteries that were in it when we got there. I am pretty sure it needs a set of plugs. It was 16 here this morning with part of that snow on the trucks...

    M1009 Recovery Trip

Thanks guys! Does anybody know if we have a member with a crew cab five ton that lives between Topeka and Tonganoxie on US 24? My son was driving the M1009 when we rolled by the truck, it was in the yard all decorated up for Christmas. I wanted to go back and look, but my job was to keep the...

    M1009 Recovery Trip

My son and I left this morning just before 0400. You have to worry about your day when you drive 30 miles, then realize you left your paper work at home. Not knowing if I had to have it or not, we turned around and recovered it. I guess I should start with swinging by my buddy's shop to pick...

What happens when you mix an M-818 with ideas peppered with too much testosterone?

I would be over there begging for a ride and a demonstration! :-D

    CUCV transfer member to member

I need his tow bar for one day! Look like a slug of nice truck in one area...

    Bigmike saves an M818

Looking good! I would love to have one like that to start working on!

    Leaf spring dilema....

My guess would be normal spring sag from the weight of the driver and fuel tank, swap them left to right and let them adjust on their own. ;-)

    Won a M1009 today!

Just the one, I would like to buy another and put M-1008 axles under it on larger tires. I really need the M-1009 for these road trips and hauling my boys. I have the M-1008 still, would like to find one of either for my son. Glen

    Won a M1009 today!

I called the GL rep, Mike Snell, today in order to try to work out a good pick up time. He said he had been starting it, but the batteries went down and would not crank it last time. I am hoping it does not have glow plug issues as it is supposed to be cold next week. Guess having a spare set...

    Won a M1009 today!

The EUC cleared today and I have a paid in full invoice. We are going to make a run for the Blazer next Wednesday. Anybody from Kansas have anything they need picked up from Jeff City, or hauled from Ft. Riley to Jeff City or point along the Interstate in between? I am anxious to hear it run! Glen

EUC over 60 days, auction cancelled!

I am on day 62, at this point I wish they would cancel the auction as I bought a low mileage M-1009 that I now think is over 100,000 miles. It has a nice set of original tires on it and a rusty driver's rocker panel. The rest looks really straight and solid and the engine looks relatively clean...

    Check your balencer

I know the 6.2 uses an externally balanced flywheel. Is the dampener also external, like a small block 400 or a 454? I know having those two with the wrong external parts will cause them to vibrate and beat the bearings out prematurely. Glen

If you're still waitin on EUC

My invoice shows pending. My EUC status shows sent to Battle Creek 10/1. Auction ended 9/24.... tomorrow will be day 60.... the wait continues. Good Luck! Glen

    They lost my truck!!!!

I agree, it is a raw deal. Had my seller been from Kansas, we would have been in court. To try and make court appearances in PA though? That is a long haul for the defense to say, judge we need a two week continuance for X reason. It does not take long to see that a trip to PA and time off of...

    They lost my truck!!!!

I got absolutely hosed on the purchase of a 1970 SS 454 Chevelle out of Pennsylvania. I bought it through one of those shopper magazines and paid a substantial down payment to hold the car as there was "other buyers".... The 454 was supposed to be the original engine and freshly rebuilt. When...

Bud Boy and I did our good deed today!

Thanks guys, it is the normal thing for me to do. Years ago I was messing around in rural Harvey County, Kansas... driving an old 1948 Willy's pickup. I had dropped in a small block Chevy and a Muncie four speed truck transmission, mated to the original transfer case. Trans/Adapt plate, I...

Bud Boy and I did our good deed today!

Me too, if I did not have perishables with me, I would have taken her to the parts house and she could buy some good cables with that 20 bucks. I had enough tools with me to swap them out for her. Got her home anyway, she has a couple of days for her family to chip in now. ;-)

Bud Boy and I did our good deed today!

We had been out cruising the county and we stopped by the Super Market on the way home. As I was loading the groceries into the M-1008 I noticed one of those four door Suzuki Sport Utilities with the hood up. I walked over to see if she needed help and she was frustrated because it would not...
