LOL!! I saw that one last night too. The appeal of the CUCV for me was never about cruising at 80-90 mph. Who can afford to do that anyway. Looks to me like he messed up two good trucks.
I think the cruising speed of 50 mph would still be good, the top end runs would be slower. The 6.2 is governed around 3400, but it has no business running anywhere close to that for any extended period. I still think it would be an interesting rig, no doubt better with an overdrive. I do not...
I know of one in a M715 and it is a powerhouse in that chassis, but then, they are geared even lower than our trucks. The Cummins is a lower rpm engine than the 6.2, top end would suffer. Unlike the 6.2 though, you can run the Cummins on the governor all day long and not hurt it any. They are...

The 4BT was pretty popular in cranes, bread/chip delivery vans, fork lifts etc.. It looks like it would be an easy install in a M1008 or M1028. I always wondered how the 4 cylinder Cummins would do in a CUCV. He...
A few years ago, like five or six, GSA sold a bunch, maybe 50 of those deuces at Manhattan Kansas and they went dirt cheap. Winch trucks were going for 150 and standard trucks were bringing 100 dollars. A buddy bought a 5 ton gas winch/bridge truck for 350 dollars. Another bought a deuce with a...
I am not sure, I know the M715 Zone guys had some huge rallies at the Tuttle Creek ORV Park north of Manhattan Kansas. The park is free, but has no camping and you cannot be in there after sunset. There is a lot of nearby camping though and some very nice facilities.
It is also the site of...
I know I would be in if I can get off of work, any weekend, any one of the states listed is fine with me. I think my truck could be driven anyplace, as long as we are happy with 50 or under. Might even get old Bud Boy to come along! Bud on the left, Sir on the right. Sir's social skills are poor...
I had a twin from the Iowa Forrestry. Mine had an exoskeleton around the windshield and across the edges of the hood as well. Looks like the same artisian to me. Glen
My rattlecanned M-715....
Different M-715 than the red exoskeleton truck....
The lime green truck, I scraped the lime off...
Welcome to the forums, I had one of those cast iron fendered, flat head sixed, gear reducted little Clark tugs that I donated to the local Flywheels Museum. They have been using it for 20 plus years to tow antique farm equipment around the museum and finally last summer, we had to overhaul the...
I ran a tall narrow highway tire on mine and it got around fine in snow up to about 8"... like the reatr said, just lay off the throttle while turning and you can scoot along very easily in the snow. I did not need four wheel assist until the pumpkins were dragging hard. Glen
I can do that, I really enjoyed my last one and would probably still be driving it if the Suburban had not trued to occupy the same space we were in. ;-)
I have some photos of it belly down on the ledges. If I can find them, I will post a couple. There was not many trails there I did not run with it. 37" tires, Detroit Locker in the rear and a Lock Right in the front. Small block Chevy with the Novak conversion. It worked pretty slick. If I was...
The Chadron Home Center bought it and sold it on Ebay. I think it sold through GSA prior to that. I used to come over your way pretty frequently, bashing my M715 at the Tuttle ORV Park. Never left any parts there, but sure ruined a nice pristine M715 tailgate, slid backwards down a rock shelf...
It looks better in the photos than in real life. It has a small but fairly deep dent in the hood, I suspect a forklift ding in the left bed side and a raised spot on the right bedrail. They let something slam into the front of the box and it is about bowed to the cab. It had been serving the Job...
That is from my old 1991 Dodge 5 speed 4x4 Cummins Pickup. In Dodge terms of the day, W was 4x4 and 350 was the designation for one ton. So, toss em all together and you get 91W350. My first Cummins pickup was a 91 3/4 2wd or 91D250. Glen
