    starter issue, help please?

That is indeed a bum deal. I am not sure how to fix that issue and would be looking for a block if it were mine. They are known to do that however, it is imperative that the front starter brace/hanger be in place and that the starter bolts are in good shape and tight. The 6.2 has high...

    Won a M1009 today!

Nothing yet, it looks like it will be the 12th of October before I can get there anyway. I am going to day shift on the 5th and as luck would have it, I landed with Saturday and Sundays off. Any other time, I would have a nice Tuesday and Wednesday type of days off. I will have to burn a couple...

new to forum, new to CUCV

How many miles does your new passion have on it? The 6.2 is a fairly long life engine if well maintained. The suspension was pretty decent too, not saying you cannot improve it, but it was a pretty nicely balanced package as it was issued. Everything is simple and easy to work on, very strong...

    My new M1009

I will be thrilled to no end if the one I have coming is close to being that nice. Those tires look great, do they clear everything with no issues?

Over heated my Deuce. Got a couple questions

Unless it had blown a huge amount of coolant out and was sensing air, you are fine with 220. Another caution on pouring coolant in an overheated running engine is that if it has boiled low, that fresh water flow will raise the coolant level to very hot metal. Instant steam blow back. Some of...

    Won a M1009 today!

I hope it goes fast, it is okay though, I have a really nice M1008 to drive. I started in 1978 worked a couple of years, quit, then came back in 1986. Worked 30 days and got the crap shot out of myself. Left lung, stomach, spleen, bladder, gall bladder, diaphram, large and small intestine...

    Won a M1009 today!

I am sure you will have yours before I get mine. I anticipate issues with my not having a home telephone. I sent in copies of my Police ID and vehicle registration, insurance papers, notarized statement from police Lts that have known me to live in Salina for over 20 years. Contact numbers for...

    Won a M1009 today!

I did not go look at them, I wish I could have. I can just hope all is well. When the EUC clears, I plan to go trailer it home. I would try driving, but want to check the tires, flex brake lines etc before we go on any 400 mile adventures. I like the MILTARY POLICE markings on yours!

    Won a M1009 today!

I had a 77 and an 82, they both did the same thing. If a guy would pull the inside cover off and clean them out once in a while, he could avoid the problem. Maybe a coat of bed liner in there after it is fixed will take care of it. That is the least of my worries, I think they are still popping...

    Won a M1009 today!

I tried a couple of M818s with winches, my pockets were not nearly deep enough! Some M35a2s went for big bucks with winches today as well. I always wanted a M1009, I hope the mileage is right. I see what appears to be a rusty area in the tailgate. Those drainholes on those Blazers were a...

    Crooked Steering Wheel

When I pulled my steering wheel on my 1987 to replace the ignition lock, the wheel was turned from the fatory mark. I aligned the marks and the wheel is straight with the truck. I do remember seeing GM steering shafts that were keyed or had a wide space in one area if you will. My 87 is not that...

    Crooked Steering Wheel

Try swapping tires from front to rear or side to side. As strange as it sounds, I have been through the bad tire routine before. On the steering wheel, 87 was way off and it turnes out that somebody had removed the steering wheel and had it badly off the original marks. You also might take a...

    Golden parts for a M25a2?

If they do, I will gladly pay the iron price and take everything from PTO to end of the chain hook. I am thinking a couple of instrument clusters might be nice as well.
