    Another M37 Recovery

I'd save it, don't part it out. The sheet metal on the cab and bed looks very nice. I've seen worse come back from the dead.

VA Steel Soldiers Rally - Putting it all together!

Well, looks like half the rain is already passed, and the rest is thinned out over the Appalachians, so I expect some rain this Friday, Saturday looks fair to good, and Sunday is great. Either way, I'm not a "fair weather MV enthusiast", so I'm getting ready to head out the door and go do some...

    Another SF97 question for GL

Never bought trucks pre-GL, I bought two trailers. One was a M416 from Chambersburg, the other was a M149 from Meade. Both times the DRMO people handed me the SF97 when I signed the invoice and was heading out the door. The numbers were right on both of them.

Deuce shutting down after 2 minutes???

The fuel looks and smells okay, nothing that seems to stand out. I will pull all the filters, starting with the primary, and see what I find. This truck isn't going to the rally this weekend, so I'm not too worried, so when I get back, I will work on it and see what happens. I'll keep...

    Another SF97 question for GL

When I bought things from DRMO, back before GL and Levy Latham got contracts to dispose of surplus property, I picked up trailers from them and they handed me an SF97 (Certificate to Obtain Title) the day I picked up the items. They didn't even ask me "do you need a SF97" when I called to...

VA Steel Soldiers Rally - Putting it all together!

Nah, Peter - you need this! Chrysler 1950's air raid siren. 12 feet long, 6 feet high, 3 tons, 30,000 watts of power, powered by a 180hp engine and producing 138 dB of ear-splitting power. Enough sound to beat fog outta the sky and turn it into rain. http://www.victorysiren.com

Deuce shutting down after 2 minutes???

Bruce, this is on the "new" deuce that I am going to keep. Total of 34 miles on a new engine. I doubt it would be the fuel filters, but I will check.

    Interesting gun truck mod

Man, that is weird. However if it's stupid looking but works, it isn't stupid.

Deuce shutting down after 2 minutes???

One of the deuces is doing something weird, I can't figure it out. Start it up, runs great, good pressure and everything, after 2 minutes of idling, it just stalls out. Plenty of fuel in the tank, batteries are okay, but not wonderful. Time is approximate, but always seems to be around 2...

    Haspin 08, June 19-22

Stretch, if you would like me to start coming up with a T-shirt design for this event, I kinda have a good thing going with a local VA t-shirt factory, and can work up a couple different designs. Let me know - I know we are having issues with getting the words "Steel Soldiers" on things...

new deuce, ID #, kaiser jeep,

Year of your deuce is 1970. The oil pressure is good at 30psi, normal for me is anywhere from 30 - 45 psi. Sometimes when I'm moving real good the gauge gets up to 75 or so. I'd leave the stock oil gauge in it. It works fine...

The key to a good deuce buy

It depends on what is important to you, including the price! Year is not that important. Most deuces between 67 and 77 have all been updated with the same engines, major features, etc. Winches are great but you may not need one, if you don't, it will save at least $1K off the selling price...

Man, that beast is big. Are you planning a restoration of her? Going back to the M123 or are you going to make a clone M125?
