    1951 M48 Tractor recovery

Man, it will be great to see that fully restored. Great pics, and excellent save!

Dumpster diving find of the day!

We live in a throwaway society. Most of us Americans, when we don't have a use for something, regardless of whether its new or used, in the trash it goes. It amazes me that we live in a declining economy, but still throw things away like good stuff grows on trees. We will be mining our own...

    Year of 816?

    I believe it's a 1971. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    not really a rant but

Ha ha. Guess my proposals are more popular than I thought! I gotta draft me a party platform....

    An official military Bob job????

Yup - I seen one. Had a towbar and a weird crane jobbie on the back end. rofl

    not really a rant but

My answer to the fuel price problem in this country: 1. Abolish taxes on them, federal state and local. 2. Publicly hang the first politician who complains about #1. 3. Drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, anywhere it exists, regardless of how much the tree-huggers scream. They drive...

Out with old, in with the new (trailers)

All the new trailers have that jack. Apparently, there are a lot of women in the Armed Forces right now, who had a hard time putting their backs into picking up the trailer tongue by muscle power. The jacks are to help them out.

    Reactive Armor CUCV

That's new. Never seen something like that before. It's definitely a mod, not something that came from the factory that way. And from what the paint job suggests, definitely going overseas to sandier climates. Anyone know of a contract that someone had to mod these CUCVs?

Won a XM818 Tractor on GL Today

That's a great looking truck for the money. If you're not into hauling semi-trailers, put a cargo bed on her and use it around the farm! The bumpers read 230 SB, 176 CSSB. This denotes the following previous owners: 230th Signal Battalion, 176th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (both are...

Out with old, in with the new (trailers)

Too pretty for us Steel Soldiers - we'd beat them up on the trail, or doing work. The M101s will do us just fine!

    Can anyone ID this truck?

Both of those trucks are pretty schweet. Too bad most police agencies sell those surplus. I like the armored cupola idea on the Ford. Wonder if they also utilize runflat tire inserts on them...

Need items to complete two Vic-1 installations.

RE: Re: Need items to complete two Vic-1 installations. You might want to try these guys too, they have a pile of cables, most not listed on their website, so give them a call: http://www.murphyjunk.bizland.com

Mileage going up on towed deuces?

Okay, that answered my question. I flat towed, did not pull shafts, so I guess that explains it.

Mileage going up on towed deuces?

Is the mileage on the odometer supposed to go up if you are towing (not driving) a deuce? Just noticed a discrepancy on one of the trucks in the mileage from the time we picked it up till the time we got it back, want to make sure everything is okay....

    Masking

No kidding - I used a porno mag as masking material when I did my M416 trailer a long time ago, to cover the lights, data plates, tires, etc. Picture me outside in the parking lot ripping apart a porno mag and taping it to my trailer, outside my apartment. Needless to say, I got a couple weird...

    Deuce in the mud

If you're off-roading in soft pack with a standing water (that would be a water puddle with mushy bottom, rather than hard-packed soil) don't expect any good movement in a deuce with open diffs and the stock NDTs. You're going to have to upgrade to locking diffs and some serious offroad tread...

    Proper way to wire Solargizer?

I have a solargizer on one of the deuces, never wired, just mounted to the left floorboard air vent cover (of all places) and not wired into the system. Not sure where I'm supposed to attached the wires, across both batteries, or only one? Help!

    For you Cadillac fans

Very cool! You can see the resemblance to the older V-100 Commandos of the Vietnam era. Are these models known as "Dragoons"? Or are they something different?
