Here's a website with a lot of parts for tracked vehicles. He advertises in MVM as well.

Oh, and on your M5 tractor: nopics
That wanna-be HMMWV looks gay. Tires are too small and it just doesn't look "right".
As far as a real HMMWV, they are out there, but expect to pay $14-15K for a beater repairable one, and $30K or so for a really nice one. Sounds expensive, but have you priced NEW commercial pickups today?
I'm 6 foot, fit just nicely. But I can say this - Stretch is on this site, and he's a good 6' 6" or so, and he drives his deuce all the time no problem.
Note that the truck starts to jump JUST before hitting the car. That's because the stunt crew put a ramp there to help the truck go up and over the patrol car to make it look cooler. Otherwise it would have simply rammed it, knocked it off the road, and it would have been less dramatic.
RE: Linda
Hi Linda, welcome to the addiction!
Pics are always more than welcome here, if you have any good pics of your truck, we'd love to see it.
As for the operator's manual, there is a .pdf one here on the site under the Technical Manuals section, you can download yourself. Eventually...
I feel there are pluses and minuses to each aspect. Too many deuces, and the price goes down and a lot get scrapped. Too few, and the price goes up and it will be harder to find cheap trucks and parts.
My suggestion?
Stop bitching and drive. :)
Yeah, Jon, this model I saw in Lowes had the term HVLP on the box, big letters. I wouldn't have even posted the thread if those letters weren't on the box.
Yes, I have a compressor. But I don't give Harbor Freight my money. They sell cheap Chinese made garbage, IMHO, and I'd rather support...
Anyone ever use a Wagner Power Sprayer HVLP gun for spraying paint on a car/truck? Just curious, they're having a sale near me on them, wonder if anyone has ever used a house paint spray gun on a vehicle with good results.
You must've gotten the office helper at Saturn who doesn't exactly know the right fit. Here's a couple pics of the right mount. One I pulled off the Net, shows not only the mount but the brush guard for the mount. The other is Mangus's CUCV with the antenna mount on the side.
I'm sure there is someone out there who can use it for a custom project. But unless someone has a good deuce with a really rusted out frame (I doubt it), it's probably just scrap or experimentation material.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: ABERDEEN 2008!
Well, I got my renewal in the mail today - I want to go ahead and send off right away to reserve my spots, but I'd rather try and get in the Steel Soldiers group purchase of spots.
So how does that get done?
Saw a couple pics of US military trailers with what looked like a big rubber band around the wheels on the dual rear axles. Looked like generator trailers, which normally would be 1 axle, 4 tires, but this was two axles, 8 tires, with the track going around them. Is this something new for soft...
Great, keep us informed, and pics of the unit would be great! Those greasecar kits I have heard are great, but just watch for when the temp drops down below 40 degrees - the grease will solidify in the fuel lines and make your life a living heck.
