Well kids here is the deal..... I talked it over with the owner of my shop and I can go this year!! but in cant be in the month of july. I know its early but I want this year to be BIG!! I want to get dates, places, ect down now so everyone has time to plan and save up for the trip. So...

Well as we all know I love to drive all over the country for green iron. I have taken 1000 miles trips in the deuce with little problems. I like to have a full tool box, exra belts, hoses (all size for the deuce) 2 gallons of oil, 5 gallons of diesel, 2 gallons of water, 2 quarts of brake fluid...
mine is post turbo and I run it up to the 1100* teaser mark and no problems at all. But if it goes just past 1100* or I keep it there for a couple min you can small things starting to burn. (not good I think) But so far no problems besides a little slober from the head gaskets. I tell ya.. my...
The 5 ton is a 14 foot bed. The short wheel base is 12 foot (same as a deuce) So if you want to use a 5 ton cover on a deuce you will need to fold it or cut it. I have a cover from a 5 ton for my Deuce and I plan on cutting it to fit. Not a very hard thing to do just need to be able to sticth it...
I have the fuel turned up on my Deuce and it will hold a very steep hill at full speed but BOY does it get hot!!! You can make a multi really crank out the power but it just gets too damn hot. I have my pyro after the turbo and I wont run it for long when the temp is over 1000*. If Im not...
one time I was going to Lacda56's house and I ran out of diesel. So I costed in to the citgo and they did not have diesel. I filled up on 30 gallons of 87 oct gas. It was very very hard to start. But when it was running I could not tell the difference from the diesel. I have found wile messing...
kenny its about 1000 one way for me. I have been saving all the ATF I can get my hands on. I have been burning 75% ATF all summer and it runs great! just smokes a bit more. I have saved about 30 gallons so far so if I keep it up I should have a 150 or so for the trip.
I know Tom well. He and I do deals all the time and Im at his shop once a month or so. Tom is no bull shi* guy! If he says the truck is good, its good. If he tells you it need work it needs work! his paint jobs are military type. What I mean is they do one thick coat of the 383. I have tryed...
I have seen that in mine too. I have been running diesel and ATF in mine for the last 1000 miles and the pump will "turn up" a bit and then back down wile driving. I think Im going to bypass the compensator
RE: continental vs. cummins .... 5 ton vs. deuce for fire t
The one big problem with the multi is it can be made to make 200+ hp but it gets hot hot HOT!! if you run it stock and detuned fuel you can run it full out forever and not have a problem, but its a dog! and hotrod is right on price...
here is one more note..... I have been a tech (and now i run my shop) for over 12 years. 35 psi in the deuce or even a little lass is ok, or 60 on the 120 psi. if there is a worn beaing your going to hear a knock BAD!! or at idle the oil psi is going to drop to 0. I have seen it a 100 times on...
YOUR FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN THAT ENGINE!!!!!!!(after you check the springs) but really.... if there was a oiling/engine problem that thing is going to be a 3000 pound bomb and its going to let loose, not just bounce the needle around a bit. RUN IT
