RE: 24v to 12v converters
I'll probably need one that can handle at least 150 watts. I am a ham radio operator, and power is king (ar ar ar). My 2-meter ham radio is 50 watts by itself, and I am looking to upgrade to a higher power rig.
Are there any military-grade power supplies that are able to convert 24 or 28VDC to 12 VDC to tun commercial accessories such as radios, CBs, etc? For that matter, any ones that can convert 24VDC to 120VAC to operate standard household items, like TVs, hair dryers, fridges, etc.?

Only response I received from my reps after I wrote them about this earlier this year was a standard form letter, i.e. "Thank you for writing me about your interest in the [insert cause here]. This issue, and all issues important to my voting constituents, are very important to me. Blah blah...
RE: bed fixed and painted yesterday
I have to warn you - you are making us all look bad. Stop improving your deuce! It won't look USGI if it isn't f**ked up in some way... :D

And that's one of the many reasons why I am going to be getting as many of these from GL as possible before they blow them all up. The more out here in civvy world, the less they can break.
Side question: since I saw Rob's M819 this past weekend at Rausch Creek, I'm curious. Does anyone have a picture of an M819 with the correct trailer behind it? Haven't seen it anywhere....
Great pics! Man, that was a great road trip, lotsa stuff seen!
I have to get to Fair Radio sometime, they have some great stuff, but shipping on green/black radio gear is killer. Maybe on the way out to Haspin next year.
I am gauging interest in an early Spring rally for Steel Soldiers in the Virginia area. I found a couple offroad parks that are okay with larger vehicles, one is in Harrisonburg, VA, the other east of Charlottesville VA. Time frame would be late March or April, so this would be a warm-up event...
I'll tell you, it would have been tight, but Opie in his M109 and Rob in his M819 wrecker made it okay, I think it would be easier than they had it. I followed Opie, and my thought was, "if he can make it through okay, then my bows and cover will make it through as well. I'm following him!"
