GOOD POINT HERE. THE MILITARY DOES NOT USE I AS IN INDIA OR O AS IN OSCAR IN THEIR SERIAL NUMBERS OR VINS. IT IS ALWAYS A 1 (ONE) OR A 0 (ZERO).

Should a M35A2 tow an M818?
Figure a standard towbar would work but is this something that should be done for a 400 mile drive?
Any special considerations for brakes?
Re: RE: Re: VIN Info-
It happens that way sometimes. It's all congressional and getting the pork for their local area. Other thing that happens is the left hand doesn't know (or care) what the right hand is doing. Folks doing the contracts for deuce rebuild is unaware the vehicles are being...

Looks like you had a good one.
First let me say no pictures from me. Wife had the camera (unless you want to see kids in the moon bounce or on the playground).
The one in Frederick was kinda weak. Six helicopters but none of them were military (2 hospital birds, 3 police, 1 private); 4...
Re: RE: More Confusing Deuce ID Stuff
Doesn't necessarily mean 52nd truck in the line. Usually it is unit specific SOP for numbering.
HQ66 usually meant an alternate command vehicle such as a command tank or apc.
Since most combat arms BDE's had an S5 (civil affairs) section, this could...
Yes Really!
Look at the bright side, it probably only had light use. The Army beats the crap out of their stuff and the USAF tends to have better maintenace and less rugged use. :D
Bad side is, if you're Army, you better make something up about what unit it came from so you won't get...
Check Saturn Surplus. They may have the actual vehicle mounts if not everything you are looking for. If they don't have the antenna system, I have shakespear antenna systems for $75 plus shipping. You can do a search to on this website to see what they look like.
Note: You put down the wrong NSN but for a deuce w/o w I got that one 'ingrained in the membrain'. The truck is military police which, although unusual, may explain the blue. Unit is part of the 99th RRC (Regional Readiness Command).

Re: RE: VIN Info-
New Wheeler,
Ditto on yours. It's USAF and my mental telepathy doesn't cross over to the USAF. My mental telepathy only works on Army.

Yes recheck the numbers and also check the frame. You may have a replacement dataplate that is incorrect.
Registration number didn't bring anything up in CARNAC's skull either LOL.
Frame number should be on the drivers side front wheel well vicinity. Especially want to look at the 825 part...
No record on your deuce, need to verify the numbers.
For the CUCV
Before it went to the 691st it was brought up to 10/20 standards and shipped out in August 1993 from:
