So only the USMC had these trucks with the Allison ? I tried to research them on the web but can't seem to find anything. Anybody know who did the conversion?
Thanks Soni
Justin,
as Eldgen mentioned, I did pick up my M916 from Barstow last Tuesday. By the way thanks for the heads-up on this truck Eldgen! Well.... I have to say, it is indeed an "interesting" truck.
Obviously it must have started live just like any other 1979 M916; Cummins NTC 400 BC1 and Cat...
Ok....there are a bunch of very nice trailers out there guys! Thanks for all the posts.
I have been trying to find an M172A1 lowboy trailer to haul my BR400+ snowcat on. Does anybody has one that they are willing to part with or know where to get one? Any pointers would be great.....
Thanks...
Oh....one last thing: do you by any chance know what the civilian spark plug number is that I should use in the 75M?
Thanks again for all the help!
Soni
Ah....I remember now, on the Mopar engines, the the drive gear is not mounted on the distributor shaft but is driven by a slot in the top of the pump drive shaft... I believe I understand now what needs to be done.
Thanks Soni
OK....I'm not sure i'm following you on this one....I assume that the pump drive and the distributor shaft are two seperate pieces on the new setup? So is it a one piece design on the 75M setup or why do u have to shorten it ?
Soni
Thank all you guys for the great imput! I will try the distributor swap, that does sound like the way to go. This XM474 tracked missle carrier should be pretty "sporty" to drive since it weights "only" a little over 11,000 #! I have not had a chance to really try it out, since it does not run...
B3.3T,
thanks for the tip. I did the Edelbrock swap already since I could not get the original carb to work at all....lol
So what would i look for distributor whise? would a standard Chrysler small block or block big block distributor work?
Soni
Anybody out there got a good source for a complete set of track pads for the M113 APC ? Also looking for spark plugs for the V8 Chrysler gas engine.
I am trying to get my XM474E2 Missle Carrier serviced and usable, so any help on this would be great.....have not had much luck on the...
Well....looks like a classic case of "ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DEUCE" to me! rofl
All jokes aside thought....Nice looking truck....congrats on the purchase!
Man.... that sucks! What a beatiful TRUCK though! Can we see some more pics of it ?(before the wreck of course)
Oh....and please tell me the Chevy was not drivable anymore either.....:?:
Soni
Thanks for the nice compliment L999. The # 30277 "Sand" color that I paint all the rest of my vehicles with, would have been a better match for the South-West Desert then the #33446 "686 Tan" CARC that I used to paint the APC. I wanted it to have that "Current Theatre of Operations Look" when...
My "US" livery FV432
I'm interested in a list of FV432 owners. It would be useful to be able to exchange tips and parts. Mine is the diesel MK2/1, but I modified it to suit my taste and needs! lol So let's just call it the "americanized" version. It has a modified M66 ringmount instaled in...
The 7155 CAT tranny present in the M915-M920 series trucks does not use a flex plate, instead it uses a standard 15" Cummins flywheel that has a splined ring bolted to it for the centrifical clutch housing to engage in. Once you unbolt that ring, it's just a standard Cummins fly wheel.
So having...
