VPed, there's another idea I never thought of! Maybe I'll have to consider that...though I pictured building something with square ends/corners to maximize space. How do you secure it so it doesn't move at all while driving?
Was thinking a little diesel Monitor/ToyoStove, though both that and a pellet require electricity, but not MUCH. Either that or electric space heaters.
Very nice write up, this kind of thing fascinates me as someone who's considering not only daily driving a 923 or 925 but also driving cross-country with one visiting most if not all states. Keep us posted on how things progress.
Get him a M923A1 like yours! Or give him yours and get another one yourself! These are such neat trucks, I love everything about them for what they are, not what they aren't, and fully intend on getting myself one, possibly even as a first vehicle (18 y/o college student here) and daily...
Fascinating! Not sure how I missed that post until now, but good to know! I prefer one with singles, and would definitely take it off road somewhat, probably without the box in it, just for the fun of it, though I would guess it probably wouldn't to as well as, say, an M923 or M925, or even an...
Wow, interesting to know the M939 series trucks had NDTs before they had ABS retrofitted into them. Now, did the A2s always have singles? I thought I'd read ABS retrofits en masse started in 1999 into these, but that seems really late to me. Can somebody confirm?
Also, come to think of it...
I don't really follow some of the politics of this too closely, but to me the idea of requiring something perfect working and usable to be "mutilated", in other words shredded/crushed/destroyed is ridiculous. Why not resell? I really don't understand the logic of it.
Wow, NDTs on an M939? That seems kinda unusual. Did they normally come like that back in the way early days of the M939 series? The ones I've seen that were duals always had GoodYear G177s.
