Just bought an M923 and I have several questions

Nevermind, I just looked(should not have to) and found the OP has started 4 threads about this truck. He has asked about the noise in 3 of them. Do not post multiple times in multiple threads, that is called cross-posting. It's against the rules for a few reasons. I'll simply merge all of...

    Alternator Rebuild

Given the small numbers of those that complain, I think I help the majority of those who want help and are not helpless. In this case, the member is new. Do you think he is familiar with the TMs? Do you know what his mechanical and comprehension abilities are? Do you really know what he...

    Alternator Rebuild

I simply stated a fact. A book is not something to be feared. It is written in easy sentences and easy steps with pictures(for this particular situation) of the alternator. I am 100% confident that my 7 year old nephew could follow it and rebuild an alternator. That makes my statement ...

    M939A2 fuel lift/transfer pump

I recently needed a new pump on a B serises Cummins motor. The machine was in for work and they sourced a new pump from Cummins. They hit me for $175 for that one! Looks like there are a bunch of copys out there too.

5-Ton (M816) Oil Pressure Gauge Question

Fwiw,, my first post was an honest effort to help you. After your reply to that(post #4), my interest may have changed based on your reply. Funny thing is, I just realized when I posted #8, that you are saying that you have a mechanical gauge and not an electronic one. My mistake on that, but...

5-Ton (M816) Oil Pressure Gauge Question

Are you 100% sure that your oil pressure gauge is mechanical? You could have oil in your air system, coming from an air item.

5-Ton (M816) Oil Pressure Gauge Question

Snide? How frigging hard is it to find a gauge forsale or vendor that sells one with the internet? I GAVE (did all the work for you)you all you needed to solve your need. If you really looked for an hour with no luck, perhaps you need more help than we can offer here on SS.

    Very hot resistor....why?

The resistor is used to supply the GP relay. If your relay is bad(dirty contacts), there may be extra resistance, causing extra load(heat). Try measuring the voltage across the two big terminals on the GP relay while it is energized. Ideally there should be none. Any voltage indicates bad...
