I can't get gasoline without the octane booster ethanol.
I don't use gasoline as the ethanol destroys rubber which my o-rings are made of.

I went back and did read the other threads about crimping, Daniels AF-8, Douglas, Packard, and Bendix connectors and sets. I must reconnect a lot of these this summer. I know I need tools/connectors.
Also, attached is from PS magazine #372 which adds to my confusion.

Other posts indicate it will get enough air to run/overrun with the main air blocked off and the 1" hose connection on the other side of the air cleaner unplugged. (The 1" for the fording kit hose connection to the compressor).

TM indicates box is pressurized with N2, and it was me I would fill engine...
