fwiw, there are only a couple TMs that end with "P". That means parts.
Use the table of context(think every book in the world, format). Look for front axle. Look at the pictures, match the picture to the part you need, then look one page furth for the GM part number.
As for how to use...
3 guesses to help the guy?
If you really want to help, why not open a TM and look at the schematic? Or suggest that?
Think they are too hard to use? Try helping 5 people a day with TMs, and you'll get proficient quickly.
It's for the diagnostics port. It goes on the alternator negative...
GL-1, as you posted in #35, is what the military used for the trans and t case and axles
Be sure you are using a diesel rated engine oil (like Rotella).
Simplify, you only need 2 oils.
I can't wait to meet you at a show or rally. I like you.:doghead:
And I'll help you with understanding the TMs. PM anytime, if you want to talk on the phone for issues like this.

I love a good challenge.
I did dig through the part TM, and I see that the picture is not the same as what the TM shows.
I wonder if yours is different for the wrecker, or someone changed it out.
Fleet pride may have a book or online catalog for the filters, and maybe it can simply be recognized visually.
I am really...
I'm no expert either, I was just looking for some details so I could try to help.
I do not know what the Simps spread sheet is. or What number you had.
Nothing is obvious with your picture, I can only see one side, and you did not say that was your truck(to know you looked on the other side)...
