What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Passive booby traps are a felony most places, including California for sure. Although generally speaking if you catch them in the act there's not much limit to what you can do. It just can't be self activated.

Today's project is the resolution of the seating issue. Pictures of the problem, and the solution. Now to fab brackets.... I'm just going to mount the MRAP seat onto the springer base. I'm going to retain the original seatbelt that's part of the springer base.

Any info on states issuing titles for hmmwvs?

Apparently NE DMV is now saying no to all MV's, and has stated they plan to revoke titles - https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?178427-Licensing-M915-s&p=2128751#post2128751

Any info on states issuing titles for hmmwvs?

Interesting. Personally I would want to reward that company by giving them the other vehicles as well, even if higher $. By the same token, if i had to go to another company for my MV's, I'd move everything there including the house. The message I want to send is "being MV friendly brings...

    53 michelin xzl tires

My poor truck has been on blocks for almost two years. I had a chance to sell the G177's off it (THANKS CLINT!), with the intent of replacing them with 395's within just a couple of weeks. Life got in the way and it didn't' happen. Meanwhile the blocks sank into the ground, and what I have...

    53 michelin xzl tires

Funny you should mention that. Today I'm mounting some onto my M925. It's a workout.... for me and the redtruck. Pull the front mudflaps before you start. And I highly recommend these offset lugnuts. You'l need them on the front axle anyway on an 809series truck.

    electric winch on deuce

You'd think the belt would slip with any serious pull. Obviously it doesn't or it wouldn't be made that way. Very interesting.

    Cross Country in an M820

My impressions, spread out over a bunch of these trucks 939series, 809series and M44series....total of maybe 50,000 miles. Regarding ride smoothness, they vary. Every truck is different. I drove an M931A2 from Indianapolis to Waco TX by way of Columbus OH. I didn't notice it being any better...

Looks like the seats in mine... Good seating only goes so far. The energy still has to go somewhere. I suggest you try out the seats in it before contemplating replacement/upgrade. The long wheelbase should help some. My experience has been that the taller tires also help some. I attribute...

    Cross Country in an M820

The truck will try it's level best to beat you to death. If you've never ridden in one, it's beyond my ability to describe.... Your dad is 75 or so? Riding across country is a real risk of compression fractures in the vertebra. I really don't recommend it for him...

I find the clutch really difficult to reach. Not enough room between the steering wheel and the top of the clutch travel. I'm 6'2".
