Passive booby traps are a felony most places, including California for sure.
Although generally speaking if you catch them in the act there's
not much limit to what you can do. It just can't be self activated.

I'm just going to mount the MRAP seat onto the springer base. I'm going to retain the original seatbelt that's part of the springer base.

Interesting.
Personally I would want to reward that company by giving them the other vehicles as well, even if higher $.
By the same token, if i had to go to another company for my MV's, I'd move everything there including the house.

My poor truck has been on blocks for almost two years. I had a chance to sell the G177's off it (THANKS CLINT!), with the intent of replacing them with 395's within just a couple of weeks. Life got in the way and it didn't' happen.
Meanwhile the blocks sank into the ground, and what I have...
Funny you should mention that. Today I'm mounting some onto my M925. It's a workout.... for me and the redtruck.
Pull the front mudflaps before you start. And I highly recommend these offset lugnuts. You'l need them on the front axle anyway on an 809series truck.
My impressions, spread out over a bunch of these trucks 939series, 809series and M44series....total of maybe 50,000 miles.
Regarding ride smoothness, they vary. Every truck is different. I drove an M931A2 from Indianapolis to Waco TX by way of Columbus OH. I didn't notice it being any better...

Good seating only goes so far. The energy still has to go somewhere. I suggest you try out the seats in it before contemplating replacement/upgrade.

The truck will try it's level best to beat you to death. If you've never ridden in one, it's beyond my ability to describe....
Your dad is 75 or so? Riding across country is a real risk of compression fractures in the vertebra. I really don't recommend it for him...
