Not really. The fuel booster has a shaft thats about 2.5-3 inches. It will hit the steering box when trying to remove. Your best bet is to pull the IP and then remove the booster. It sucks, I know. I will see if I can dig up some pics I took a while back.

Check your axle vents. You will build pressure and push fluids out every time you drive if the vents aren't working. I go off-road a lot, so I replaced my vents with hose barbs and tied them all together with tubing ending in the cab. That way I know when water might get into the system.

Worst case, I have a parts motor I could pull them out of.

A ghetto cure for the 3-4 gap is to start in low range Tcase, run through the gears(1 through 5), shift to high range and use 4 then 5. Its not the greatest, but works ok.

No reason to swap motors unless the block has a hole in it. An LDT can be tuned to make LDS power especially if you swap in the LDS rocker arms.

Why not just use a 12v version of the in-tank fuel pump? The exact same body, just a 12v version. Can be found on ebay easily.

Be careful with this, please. Once there is a load on it, you usually need to press in the clutch to stop the pull! Many members here have ruined their radiator cause they drug the winch hook around the drum.
