Did you drive the Jeeps around to know they did not use oil or anything? If so, do you remember what the jeeps looked like? Find a picture on the Internet, of the jeeps they came from then we might have a better idea what you have.

Air blowing out the vent is classic bad air pack. (which one?, you'll need to remove the vent lines and see which one).
I'd rebuild both, and the master cylinder.
You can simply remove the round part and reconnect the wire . I used a butt connector to splice mine, when I removed the filter.

I've experienced the same failure when I ran an MEP-002 on a slave cable and it came unplugged while it was running.
