I watched as the same truck was listed and sold three weeks in a row on GP.
I now see it happening again with another truck.
Item number changes, but serial number and miles/hours as well as pics clearly show that it's the same truck.
Trucks sell on Wednesday and then the truck shows back up...
Two fully charged batteries are enough to start a cucv 3 times and run about 10 hours with lowbeams on, even if your charging system is completely INOP. (Ask me how I know :) )
( as an aside, 4 fully charged hawkers are enough to run a 939series 5ton for about 30 hours of signals and...
If you take the standard wheelbase cargo truck as your baseline for comparison, the M934 feels enormous.
The truck tractors really feel nimble and maneuverable in comparison. If you don't need all the additional room of the expansible van, you may want to consider an M109 box on an M931.
As...
I like dock rocker's idea. Receiver tube is about $10. Mounting it should be a trivial exercise in welding.
I see no reason to go with a 12v winch. No advantage whatsoever. Warn 24v winches are so cheap and readily available that there shouldn'teven be a price advantage. The last NOS 18k warn...
At the same pricepoint I'd prefer the 395's. I've got an M109A3 (pending euc) and I plan to use 395's on mrap rims for it.
My 5ton is on G177's. If I end up with another 5ton on super singles, it'll be on 16's or 395's.
The tires are not the limiting factor for "being comfortable at 65mph"...
395's are probably the better choice. They're still in use by the military and will be readily available for quite some time to come.
Carnac's deuce runs 62mph comfortably on 42" tires. 395's are 45".

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you won't find anything on GP that hasn't been repainted multiple times.
A knowledge of unit markings will tell you where it came from.
I'm continually amused at the premium people pay for "clean rust free desert trucks that have never seen snow" being...
That sounds like a fine idea to me.
I use rattlecan over intact but faded CARC. The CARC provides the rust protection and durability and the rattlecan is more or less just cosmetic.
Where CARC isn't intact and rust has attacked, out comes the sandblaster.
If you're doing the whole truck at...
M109A3 with 395's on mrap rims, and repowered with a cummins 5.9 or 6.7... or not repowered...
Or an M983 as the starting point.
Or MK48 . Shameless plug - I have a mk16 RBU for sale in tucson....
Suggestions, in order of preference :
1) Rustoleum rattlecan deep forest green. Cheap, easy, and yu can do the truck a little at a time. Easy to touch up, and readily available.
2) Behr housepaint.
3) milspec CARC available from Sherwin Williams special coatings.
